Mia sat in math class secretly sulking. She thought back to the scene in the hallway with Elliot. She felt so bad when she called him a clumsy animal. The words still wrung in her head. She hoped he didn't take it to heart because she didn't mean it. She thought back to that day that started it all. That day on the playground that could've been completely different. They could've been friends, but she had to stay true to the image that she is known for. The pretty rich girl.

"Oh no!" Mia whispered to herself.

Did she still have it? After her purse fell on the floor, she didn't know if it was still in there. She grabbed her purse and looked through it. It was not in there. It had to be in here. It was her only reassurance that she wasn't that bad of a person. Mia took her purse and dumped the contents on her table. That caused her teacher to look back at her.

"Miss Mia Santos ! Care to tell us what is with all that noise back there?" Said the lady with a big beak nose.

Mia gulped and put on a straight face. She said "What's it to you bird beak? Go back to teaching the class. You have nothing better to do anyway." The whole class 'oooohed' after her response. The bird beak teacher didn't say anything. She was too shocked to respond. Mia continued looking through her stuff and realized it really was missing. She didn't want to panic, but was really freaking out.

"Miss Santos! Since you have such a rude mouth, why don't you go to the office and talk with the principal?" She said pointing to the doors.

Honestly, this is exactly what Mia needed. This way she could go looking for it. She was not about to go to the office.

Mia smiled at the teacher, grabbed all her stuff, and confidentially walked out the classroom.

Mia could not find it anywhere. She traced her steps and it was nowhere to be seen. She was seriously hyperventilating. What meant everything to her was gone. Just like that. She got her phone out of her purse and texted Tia.

'I need to get out of this hellhole. Call Chive and meet me by the girls bathroom'

Tia texted soon after.

'Say no more. I couldn't take another second of science anyways'

Mia smiled and leaned against the bathroom door, waiting for her best friend to come to her rescue.

Tia couldn't believe what she found when Mia's purse fell on the floor. It was the necklace with Elliot's name on it. Tia was wondering if it came from Mia's purse or if Elliott dropped it.

"No way would Mia have this. Elliott is a stupid poor nerd. " Tia assured herself. Tia smiled to herself and raised her hand to the teacher. Even though her science teacher was smoking hot with his golden hair and big blue eyes behind his glasses, his lecture today was boring the heck out of her.

"Yes, Tia? You have a question?" He smiled to her. Tia blushed and smiled back.

"I have to go to the bathroom."

"Oh. Well then go ahead, but hurry back. You're going to miss my lecture on the anatomy of a curved mirror."

"Don't worry Mr. Daniels. I could not miss that!" Tia said with fake excitement as she walked out the door. Tia rushed out and kept looking at the necklace as she went to Mia.

"Oh crap! I almost forgot to text Chive!"

'CHIVE! BE AT MY SCHOOL IN TEN! STAT! I WANT TO GO TO THE MALL!'

Tia put her phone back in her pocket and looked at the necklace one more time.

"I will find out who had this necklace. "

"OMG! What if Mia has been sneaking around with Elliot? And she didn't tell me? Mia has some explaining to do."

Tia stuck the necklace in her other pocket and stomped off in her heels to find Mia.
