"Let's visit the park and ride a bike!" Yura begged with a little happy spark. "I have other plans," You said, stuffing books inside your bag.
"Aww, come on, you always do...," She whined. You rolled your eyes. "Fine, but you're renting the bike," You sighed. Yura smiled. "Thanks."
-At the day of the bike ride-
"___!" Yura screamed, her hair bobbin up and down. People looked towards you. You were in the middle of the streets after all. Yura came up to you and wiped her sweat, people were still staring.
"Let's get going," You said, avoiding the stares of the people.
You circled the course for about a couple of minutes finding the bike renting place.
"There it is!" Yura pointed at a big garage-like shop. There were people hustling and crowding towards the shop while holding up money.
"It's so crowded," Yura huffed, taking her hat off. You sat down on the bench near the shop. "Are you sure you want to wait till it has deceased?" You asked to her. She gave an unsure nod. "Maybe."
You chugged down your water angrily. 'This is a waste of time ' You thought.
"Excuse me," A boy called. You looked up, there was a beautiful boy staring right at you. You looked to Yura, she was opening her mouth wildly.
"Yes?" You gulped. "I was thinking maybe you wanted to share this bike? Since I thought that perhaps you both didn't succeed to rent the bike," He said, his voice so enchanting.
"Y-yea," You laughed awkwardly. "How come you're alone?" Yura suddenly asked. The boy looked at her, and back to you. "Well, at first I brought a couple of friends here, but they left on purpose...and I had already rented this bike, for two," the boy explained.
"It must be really weird if you're riding the bike yourself isn't it?" You chuckled. He nodded. Yura made a signal that she was going to the bathroom, you made an okay sign.
"Would you mind if you would come riding on the back seat, I'm quite lonely," The boy said, looking at the running Yura.
"Sure," You answered. "My name's ___."
The boy smiled. "My name's Vernon, nice to meet you," He said. "Hop on," He added. You grinned.
After getting permission from Yura, you sat on the back seat of the bike. You could see Vernon's soft hair from the back, and his spine trailing down.
"Are you ready to go ____?" Vernon asked. You nodded. Riding a bike with a handsome stranger wasn't a bad way to spend time after all.
Vernon pedaled along the track. You looked up, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, some petals dropped on your hair. The edges of the bike track was pink, covered with the petals. The people pass by quickly, as if you both were the ones that were slow.
But isn't it quite slow? You're not sure if Vernon pedaled slowly on purpose or not.
You looked to Vernon, he was enjoying the bike ride, glancing at you from time to time....making sure you're comfortable. You smiled every time his head turned back.
"I love the cherry blossoms," Vernon said. "Me too," You replied. You just had to lean to his back and close your eyes, fantasizing about lots of things.
"Hey Vernon.....say....it was a good thing I met you."
Vernon looked at you, but didn't say a single word and kept pedaling. You don't need a reply anyways, you're just focused on treasuring this moment.
It didn't last long till the bike went to a stop.
You hoped off the bike and brushed your thighs. "It was really fun meeting you___, but I should go," Vernon said, while thanking you.
"Wait! We can still contact each other maybe?" You asked in an awkward tone. "You want to be friends with me?" Vernon asked. You nodded. You exchanged numbers.
"You're a college student?" You gasped, when Vernon revealed his age. "What do I look like?" Vernon asked you back. "A high schooler," You answered, still dazed.
"I'm glad I laid my eyes on you, ___," Vernon chuckled. You tilted your head.
"To tell you the truth....I knew you already," Vernon coughed. "Y-you knew me already? But how?" You asked.
"Wasn't all of this just a coincidence?" You questioned further. "No, it wasn't," Vernon admitted.
"Your stepbrother, he was my best friend...and, so he mentioned about you, and I think I founded you quite interesting," Vernon explained. You blinked.
"But either so, I would still meet you no matter what. Even if I never knew your stepbrother existed, I would still find you in a part of my life," Vernon breathed, scared you'll go away.
But you just met him....right? Or have you seen him somewhere you never noticed before?
"Let's get to know each other better first," You shrugged, failing to hold back a smile. "Sure, let's go slow," Vernon took a hold of your warm hands.
You brushed your cheeks. You knew you already had this little string pulling you to him, and you can't release it.
"___!" Yura's voice snapped you out.
"Are you done with the bike ride?" She asked. You looked at Vernon. He tapped don Yura's shoulder."Why don't you go buy us some drinks," Vernon said, giving money to her. Yura nodded. While she went away, you looked at him.
"Why did you ask her to buy a drink?" You asked.
"Isn't it obvious yet?" Vernon blushed. You shook your head. Vernon teasingly flicked your forehead. "Let's just go for another ride under the cherry blossoms," Vernon pulled you.
You could never resist this feeling, and you were not planning to make it go away either.
