"Do you have plans this Saturday?" Somi asked, hoping a no, coming from your mouth. You scratched your head, you didn't want to disappoint her.
"Actually, I do," You answered with a sigh. Somi smiled. "I see...," She replied. You screamed inside your head.
"See you on Monday, "Somi waved goodbye at the parting. Her house was on the other corner, opposite from yours. You waved back.
Walking back home alone, you felt bored, but you took the chance to release your anger. "Sheesh, it's all just because of a stupid reunion," you mumbled, kicking pebbles.
Yes, the 'so important' business you had to do was a stupid school reunion with your elementary friends from grade five. You cringed so hard at the memory.
You never did make so many good friends back then.
At home, you held the photo class figure. Everyone was doing the v-pose with their hands, and smiling so bright you began to think they'll mouths will break. You looked at all the people there, some were nice and some were really annoying.
Then there's you, at the corner, keeping your poker face straighter than usual. You were not the bad girl type, it's just that you had a really hard time fitting in with the rest of the class. Making people label you as the 'Dark Queen' .
You punched your bed, hating the fact that you were forced to see them. Since your mom wasn't going to give you any more allowance if you can't socialize with your past classmates.
You turned off the lights and tucked yourself inside the cozy blanket, your eyes still open wide. Strangely, tonight feels longer than any nights before...
The next morning, you woke up at the sound of your ringing alarm.
You made yourself to beat the laziness inside you. You picked the clothes that were not the best, but not the worst either, after all, this was a school reunion.
The one and only friend you had, (Y/F/N) promised to pick you up about a couple of more minutes with her car.
"Get in," (Y/F?N) smiled widely, after arriving.
You did as you were told, sitting right next to her, and she drove away...
"So, who are you looking forward to seeing?" She asked, pulling the car to a stop at the sign of a red light.
"No one in particular," You huffed, a strand of hair blew away from your face. "I thought so," She laughed.
You brushed your pants to remove dirt as soon as (Y/F/N) parked the car.
You walked nervously to the counter. "Where's the room reserved from Shin Minju?" You asked, feeling awkward with calling the class representative's full name back in grade five.
"It's just right beside the Conference Room on the fourth floor," The lady on the counter replied. You didn't have the chance to mouth a thank you cause (Y/F/N) was already dragging you towards the place eagerly.
"Don't rush," You snapped. She shrugged.
DING!
The elevator opened, revealing a set of doors, waiting to be opened, but you were only searching for one in particular. Names were labeled in front of the doors to easily identify them.
"HERE IT IS!" (Y/F/N) shrieked in delight as soon as she found the room you were both looking for. Without further preparation, she opened the door, revealing a sickly bright light stinging your eyes.
