**Unkown POV**

What the hell was (y/n) doing? I saw who she was with, what she was doing... I'd almost pay her a visit, but I think it'd freak out the poor human if  she knew I knew her name and who she was.

I sighed and looked over at one of my minions.

"Jack, we haven't succeeded in telling her the truth. Although I suppose she has lured the creatures out of their protected den, I'd like it if they were still too afraid to go outside. Do you think we'll be able to do such a thing?" I asked.

The old man glanced up, his eyes entirely black and some type of goo dribbling out of his mouth and muttered something unintelligible to basically anyone who wasn't a demon.

"Lovely, that's a divine plan. I'll feed the little girl lies until she can no longer stomach seeing them, the others will never see it coming. Prepare to go back soon, I'm sick of waiting. If your vessel fails me, then you know exactly what's going to happen," I said.

The old man began shaking and spoke a recognizable language. "Please don't master..."

I cackled and picked the tiny human creature up. "I will do what I please. I demand that you aid me and you shall and if you don't..." The old man began shaking his head quickly.

I threw him to the ground, and he flopped like the little play toy he was. "We're going to try and capture (y/n) if we get the chance."

**Your POV**

You flopped into your bed at home and sighed loudly.

"I don't know what's up with what that old man told me... It doesn't seem entirely true, I mean Splendorman is really friendly. Offender didn't deny what I called him however which makes me a little suspicious but maybe that's all in the past now. He seems like an ok person," you ranted to yourself.

You pulled the blankets around you and curled up into a ball, hoping to think over thing and figure out what was going on. Why would Jack lie to a stranger? He seemed genuinely concerned for you this whole time, and he'd been kind enough to serve you tea in his own home and warn you...

You heard a knocking on your door and groaned. Why couldn't you be left alone with your thoughts for a little longer?

You got up, leaving a mess of blankets on your bed and answered the door.

"Hey sweet cheeks. I wanted to drop Splendorman off and actually talk to you for a bit. Is that alright?"

"Oh, uh..." You were shocked, you weren't expecting Offender to show back up again. "Sure I guess, come in."

He smirked and you moved aside from the door to let him in. Once he entered he had that shark tooth grin that sent shivers down your spine. "It's a nice place you have here. Quite cozy and yet, roomy at the same time. How do you do that?"

You shrugged, looking around at all of your favorite nick knacks and decorations around on shelves, tables, and other surfaces. "I made it feel like home. I put all my favorite things around, it makes me feel more comfortable seeing them everywhere I go."

"That's pretty smart design. You have good taste (y/n)."

"So... What made you change your mind about a few days from now?" You actually were curious as to why he'd ditched his brother and came back alone. Was he going to do something to you?

"I felt like there was some unsolved conflict between us, actually more like some suspicions I'd like to clear up."

"You mean about earlier? They were just rumors about you that someone told me... They said they knew you. Do you know a Jack?"

"Well it depends. What did he look like?"

"He's an old man with graying hair, and wrinkles? How do you describe one of the only old people here in this town?"

"No, I don't know an old man. This is fishy, I think there's something more at work here (y/n). He says he knows me, but I don't know any old people named Jack. Please, stay away from him."

"Why? He's kinda nice, he let me into his house and drink tea with him."

"He might not be a human. I have to talk to my older brother about this. In the mean time, please just don't talk to him."

You nodded, but were confused about what he meant by another force at work behind this old man. He was just an elder, who maybe knew Offender but Offender didn't know him, the kind of sightseeing you'd do when you see someone but they don't see you and of course you know them by having saw them before and stories and such, but he said they were friends.... Maybe he lied about that too who knows.

"Thank you. I'm going to see if I can get some of my friends to guard you so that in case there really is something up with that old man, you'll be safe."

"I don't think you have to do that, I'm not helpless!"

"I know you aren't but in the case of a demon, yes you are. Don't be alarmed by the way they look, they'll only be around your house if you don't want to let them in and they'll be sure you're safe ok?"

"I guess that's ok. I really hope he's just an innocent witness, not some twisted illusion or something like that."

"I hope so too. I have to go (y/n), I'll see you sooner rather than later, especially knowing that there could be something dark going on."

"Bye Offender, see you later."

The slender waved and left you alone, making you wonder what in the hell was really going on.
