**Slender POV**

I awoke in the morning to find everyone standing at my doorway. It was quite a sight really, I'd never seen anything like it before. This was the first time they were all able to gather and not bicker amongst themselves, and it was all because of ________.

In all honesty, she had been a delight to the household. She'd spent time with them and kept them in line, especially my brothers. I'd never seen Splendor so happy while these restrictions had been placed, nor had Trender been as enthusiastic about fashion before or even the fact that Offender appeared so loving to the girl.

The best part was there hadn't been any obnoxious noise from their rooms when they were together, which was shocking.

She was quite the girl, and now that she was gone, we all missed her. Yes, including myself. I missed her too.

"Alright everyone, I see you're up bright and early," I called. "I know you all want to talk about _____."

"None of us could sleep," clockwork said.

"Offender left last night. He said he was going to kill Zalgo," Rake said.

Both Trender and Splendor nodded sadly. "We couldn't stop him, he was too determined to go."

I stood in shock. "What?! What do you mean Offender left?! We were going to discuss a plan and he had to just leave and get himself killed?"

"He said he was going to scout it out, but he hasn't come back," Jeff added. "The fucker probably will get killed if we don't do something about it."

No. No way! I knew exactly what Zalgo was doing and what he had been doing since he had taken ______. He wanted us to go to him, he was trying to get us to leave. It was going to be a slaughter if I didn't do anything about it, I'd seen him in power before!

"We have to wait it out, wait until he loses interest or at least cools down," I sputtered swiftly but I was met with immense protest.

"No fucking way! Are you seriously going to let our family members die out there?!" Jeff exclaimed.

"Zalgo will never cool down! He's waited years Slender, years! And we're still cowering in our little rabbit hole while he grows more powerful! There is no way I'm going to just stand here and do absolutely nothing!" Jane announced.

There were cries of agreement and lots of noise before I called for their attention but they refused to listen to me.

"Majority vote rules, those in favor of Slender's plan, say I!" Laughing Jack yelled.

There was silence.

"Knock this off this instant!" I said.

"Those in favor of kicking ass, say I," Laughing Jack continued.

Everyone yelled I from the top of their lungs, even Sally and Splendor who never seemed to agree to violence.

"Look Slendy, we're done with this shit. If you won't save your own brother, then we will. That's that," Ben said with a grin.

"To arms my darlings!" Trender screamed.

I could not find my voice to stop the madness anymore. How was I supposed to stop this barreling storm from hell if they would not listen? Perhaps they would have to learn for themselves the pain Zalgo had inflicted upon me when I had tried so hard to protect them... All I had wanted was to keep them safe, but  you cannot save people who do not want to be saved.

"Fine! You may pursue Zalgo, but I will not come with you. You are on your own and you have been warned, I will be here when you come back to lick your wounds," I said.

"Well whatever, when we kill them all, we'll rub it in your face," Toby teased.

"And maybe we won't come back, but it's for the best anyway! I'd rather die than suffer here another day!" Eyeless Jack exclaimed.

There was loads of agreement and the crowd began making their way for the door, all except a few.

Sally came to me and hugged my leg. "I'm sorry to disobey you Slenderman, but ______ is my friend. I miss her," she cried.

I knelt down and rustled her hair. "It is ok dear Sally. Just be careful, I do not wish to see you hurt. I will be here waiting for you," I murmured.

She smiled through her tears and held out her teddy bear to me. "Can you watch him while I'm gone? He'll make sure you aren't lonely, and he'll protect you," she said.

I refused the offer. "You'll need protection more than I do Sally."

"But he wants to be with you, please take him."

I relented and grabbed the teddy bear from her before hugging her. "Very well. I will watch over him."

"Thank you mister Slenderman. I will see you when I get back." And then she took her leave.

Trenderman and Splendorman were waiting to speak with me.

"Are you for real that you won't help get Offenderman back?" Trender asked.

"I'm certain."

Trender man made a sound as though he were clicking his tongue and shook his head. "I'm disappointed in you. We're family." And before I could reply he made a dramatic wave and left, leaving me to chat with Splendor.

"Why won't you come with us?" He said, his voice cracking. He also had tears in his eyes.

"I cannot go back to that monster. I've seen what he's capable of and I need to be able to take care of you all when you come back."

"You'll still take care of us?"

"Yes. I still love you all, I've never... I've never meant to be so hurtful. Especially to you, I know. For that one time, when I got angry and overreacted-"

He stopped me mid sentence. "Don't say sorry. It's ok, I know you are. I love you brother."

"I love you too Splendor. Come back to me in one piece please, I couldn't bear to see you dead."

He gave a cheerful genuine smile. "We'll do well, I have faith in us all! Goodbye Slender."

And like that, the mansion was cleared of everyone. I was all alone with my large mansion and no one to fill it. It would almost be a dream if not for the circumstances.

Right now, it was my own personal hell. And I had made my bed, so I suppose I had to lay in it. This misery I felt wash over me as Splendor shut the door behind him was something I would have to writhe in.
