- Amber's POV -

Me and Elizabeth spent the next few hours in our morning unpacking all of our belongings and making the bedroom as pretty as possible, it turned out very well if you ask me. We had covered the walls in drawings, family photos, fairy lights, quotes, song lyrics and also our timetables for school. Elizabeth lay down on her bed and had a rest while I wandered around our room smiling at the way it looked.

"I'm pretty sure our room is the nicest in this whole building" I told Elizabeth, she nodded and closed her eyes again. I continued to look around until I noticed something taped to the door that we hadn't read before, I got up and made my way across the room.

I pulled the piece of paper off the door and began to read it;

"This building has a common room, a small kitchen for snacks, a bathroom and shower room in every dorm. The common room and kitchen are on the bottom floor next to the reception."

I looked across at Elizabeth who was now on her phone instead of sleeping, I held the piece of paper up to get her attention and she glanced over at me.

"What's that?" She asked before joining me at the door to read it.

"Let's go have a look around, I want to see what the common room looks like" I told her excitedly, she rolled her eyes and agreed. We put our shoes on, turned off the fairy lights and locked our bedroom door before heading down the corridor.

"Dorm five is so far away from the stairs" Elizabeth complained while sighing, I laughed at her. It was only approaching 1:00pm and she was already falling asleep. The corridors were still busy with people wandering around and unpacking, some girls smiled at me and Elizabeth as we passed them. When we made it to the stairs Elizabeth skipped down them like a child while humming a random tune, where did that burst of energy come from?

We passed the reception and found the blue door which said 'Common Room' on it, I pushed open the door and instantly heard pop music on the loudest volume playing around the room. Elizabeth screwed her face up at the music and I tried to hold in my laughter, there were three girls dancing around and singing at the top of their lungs. We approached the three sofas which faced a TV, behind them was a pool table and a dart board. The small kitchen was just at the side of the room.

One of the girls spotted us entering the room and her face instantly lit up, she had short pastel pink hair and the sweetest smile.

"Hi strangers!" She shouted happily while running towards us, her two friends looked in our direction and turned down their pop music. Elizabeth almost greeted her back until the other girls in the room interrupted.

"Shut up Carrie-Anne!" They shouted together while laughing, the pastel pink cutie stopped talking and walked back to the sofa area. The blonde haired girl wearing a long red dress approached us slowly with a sly smile on her face, Elizabeth and me glanced at each other in confusion.

"Just letting you girlies know that the common room is going to be MY hangout area, My friends are only welcome here" She said while putting emphasis on 'my'. Elizabeth began to laugh slightly and the other girls looked slightly worried for us.

"This isn't a joke" The girl continued, I felt terrified of her and I wasn't planning to talk back. Elizabeth and the scary girl looked each other up and down as if they were about to claw each others eyes out.

"That's totally fine, we will leave you guys alone now. Right Elizabeth?!" I muttered quickly while grabbing onto Elizabeth's arm and dragging her towards the door, she pulled away from me and approached the girl again. I kept my distance from their argument and watched in the shadows, my heart was thumping.
