Chapter Sixteen- Tonight Tenants Range from a Lawyer and a Virgin (Pt. 4)

Morning came , they all gathered in court. Rey was nervous as was Ben. Lucas was with Finn and Poe in the pews. Rey took a deep breath as she sipped her overly hot coffee. Ben closed his phone and put in his pocket. Judgement day was here.

"All rise of the honorable Judge Christopher Jackson" he said. They all stood up and he walked in."Case number 46810, Benjamin Solo against Reyhanne Kenobi over custody of Lucas Kenobi" he said 

"I've reviewed the files and the evidence , including both Miss Kenobi and Mr. Solo's testimonies... Both over and over again. I took Lucas's well being in my choice... I do not wish to offend either of you... I did what was best for Lucas, now in one year we shall come back and change the agreement but for now I have my verdict." he said.

They all took deep breaths. "In case 46810 , Benjamin Solo against Reyhanne Kenobi over the custody of Lucas Kenobi... I hearby grant Mr. Benjamin Solo full custody of Lucas Kenobi effective immediately... Miss Kenobi will receive visitations once every three months... Final." he said and banged his gavel.

Rey's jaw dropped and she let out a small creek. She looked at Ben and saw his sorry eyes. Jesse went to hug her but she shoved his hands away and she ran out the center of the room. She slammed open the doors and ran to the steps of the court building. 

She tried to catch her breath, she tried to calm down. She was breathing heavy and crying. Her whole world had been taken from her with one bang of a gavel. A drop a rain fell down and she sighed. She buried her crying face in her hands and just sat down on the steps and cried.

"Rey" she looked up and saw Ben, his nice suit was now soaked from the heavy falling rain. He walked over to her. "I am so so so so sorry, I didn't want full custody I wanted like 40 percent, and -"

"I have nothing to say to you... You've taken my son away from me" she shouted and stood up to try and face him. She stepped on a higher step so she could attempt to make eye contact. 

"He's my son too! And you've kept him from me long enough ... And I didn't lie to him!" he defended himself.

"I didn't keep him from you!" she screamed and more thunder cracked.

"Yes you did !" he yelled.

"You left me !" she was crying hard now, almost as hard as the rain above her. "You left me, alone, at 17... I was heartbroken, the only person I ever loved with my entire heart left me! You're the one who got on the plane and never looked back!" she cried out "you left me"

"You think I did it because I wanted to? My life is to busy and would always put back your dreams! That's why I never called you back or texted you because I wanted you to have that little blue house with the cherry tree and picket fence on Gilmore street! I wanted you to have the three kids, Amanda , Sophie and Lucas ! I did it because I love you Rey, not because I didn't" he yelled.

"If you really love me than you would have never left me ! You think that I wanted my heart broken! I loved you so much Ben! I waited every single fucking day for you to come back to me!" she yelled.

"I had to live my life knowing I would never see you again! I wanted you to have everything you could ever want!" he said loudly, the rain dropping harder and the thunder crackling louder.

"All I could ever want was you! You were all I wanted, I could care less about the blue house and cherry tree with the white picket fence around it on Gilmore Street! I just wanted to be with you and have a life with you, even if that meant going on tour and all. I wanted a life with you and only you ... But you left me damnit! You up and left me alone.. heartbroken!" she screamed. "You moved on, and got married three times, you've seen the world and I was left heartbroken! Jesse if the first person I've dated since I you left me , but you've been married !" she screamed.

"I married people who looked like you or acted like you or had a star tattoo like you... But none of them were you! None of them ever where like you! Because for the past 20 years I've been in love with you!" he yelled.

"If you loved me you would have come-" then Ben grabbed her by the waist and kissed her harshly, he held her close against his body and his lips merged with hers. It was a hungry kiss, like he had eaten in days and she was a fresh baked bread.

She pulled away and slapped his arm. "I hate you" she yelled and then walked off, leaving him in the pouring rain , alone and hurting.
