That picture makes me weak
Blake's pov
"Ha!" He cheered, as the ball swished through the net, bringing the game to a tie. "game point, my ball."
"Whatever" I scoffed playfully, "you'll never beat me." I told him frankly.
"Oh yeah?" He cocked an eyebrow, "So what if I do?" He asked, challenging me.
I shrugged my shoulders, "what do you want?" I asked, placing my hands on my hips as I gazed at him. The moonlight shine behind him, causing a reflection on the pool water. I watched as he pondered, toying with his lip ring in the process.
He turned back to me soon enough with a bashful smile on his face. "If I win," he started, "you have to go on a date with me" he spoke, looking me dead in the eye.
As his words sunk in, I instantly felt my stomach drop. "Ok" I replied with a shrug. "But if I win," now it was my turn to gaze off and ponder. I chewed on the inside of my cheek as I wondered what I should say. The only thing I could think about though, was the fact that Luke wanted to take me on a date.
"If I win" I began and turned back to him. I hesitated before following through, "you have to answer one question" I said, holding up one finger.
"That's it?" He asked. I couldn't tell if the look in his eye was nervous or satisfied as I nodded my head slowly. "Ok" he shrugged, checking the ball with me. I hugged my arms around myself as chill crept through my body. Since it as dark out and the sun had gone down, the temperature has dropped significantly- the cool water wasn't exactly helping either. "Ready?" He asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I nodded and watched as he lifted his arms to shoot. Move I told myself, but my feet remained glued to the bottom of the pool floor, seeming to have a mind of their own. My eyes followed the ball as it soared in the air and landed in the net. A small smile dared to tug at my lips, knowing what this meant.
"You didn't even move" he chuckled, despite the confused look on his face. "How come?"
My body shivered as I folded my arms across my chest. "Maybe I wanted you to win" I said, "so you can take me out" I admitted, looking down at the water, suddenly feeling embarrassed by my words. I looked up at him and saw he had taken a step closer.
"I would've taken you out anyway" he winked making my stomach twist with butterflies. I've never gotten nervous, let alone this nervous, around a boy ever. Something about this boy in particular, made butterflies appear in my stomach.
I licked my lips and rolled my eyes subtly, but knowing how to react to such a bold statement. "Assuming I would've said yes" I challenged with a smirk.
He smiled bashfully, "Well Blake, will you go out with me?" He asked, resting the basketball on his hip.
"Nah I'm good" I shrugged and pretended to look disinterested. He looked a little astonished, but I figured he knew I was only playing. "Yes I would love to" I smiled and looked up into his eyes.
"Good" he smiled, closing the gap between us. "I'm curious" he stated, "what was your question?"
I nervously bit my lip and felt weak as I looked into his crystal eyes. "It's stupid" I breathed, scrunching my nose in embarrassment.
He shook his head, "I'll answer it, I promise."
Swallowing hard, I spoke, "Why did you kiss me this morning?" I asked in a tone barely a over a whisper.
A smile tugged at the corner of his lip and I watched him sexily bite down on his lip. He released a breathless laugh, probably embarrassed to answer. "Because I like you" he told me quietly, but with great confidence. "And I have ever since that day in the grocery store" he added. I smiled, recalling the encounter that day.
