Luke's pov
"Wait here" I whispered, "I'll check and see if they're home." Blake nodded her head and hugged the towel tighter around her body.
Hesitantly, I slid the pulled the sliding glass door open and quietly stepped inside. "Hey Cal?" I called and prayed there wouldn't be a response. "Michael? Ash?" I called, but heard nothing but silence. Smiling, I turned and motioned for her to come inside.
Still, I was on cloud nine that Blake wanted to go out on a date with me. We had agreed to not tell the boys yet, just to see how things went, because we knew they'd overreact. I hadn't thought we would go out tonight, as it was 10pm and we were all wet from the pool, but hey, I wasn't turning it down.
"We should take my car" Blake whispered, despite the fact nobody appeared to be home. "Cuz it'll look sketchy if we leave and it's still in the driveway" she pointed out.
"Good call" I replied, quickly towel drying my hair and running my hands through it in an attempt to make it look nicer. "Want me to drive?" I asked as she slipped a pair of shorts on over her head.
"Sure" she answered and tossed me her keys. "I'm ready" she added and flipped her hair back into a bun. Even though nobody was home, I still opened the door quietly and allowed led her to step outside first.
She thanked me and scurried to the passenger side of the car where she then climbed inside. I hurried behind her and started the ignition of the very nice sports car she drove.
"Hell of a car" I commented, "it's really nice"
"Thanks" she half laughed. "It was sort of a going away gift from my stepfather" she told me with an emotion that I failed to detect.
"Yeah? Nice guy?" I asked, starting up a conversation.
She took a few moments before answering, "he's alright" she commented with a shrug and a fake laugh. Instantly I knew it was a lie but I didn't want to be that guy who asked personal questions on the first date. "He works for some record label though so he's not around that much" she added, steering the conversation in a different direction.
"Oh yeah? What record label?" I asked as I made a left out if the driveway and pulled into the dark street that were only illuminated by streetlights.
"That sounds like a question I should know the answer to" she chuckled as she turned to look at me.
I laughed too, "no worries."
"How did you guys form your band?" She asked with lots of curiosity present in her voice.
"Well Michael, Calum and I used to do covers of songs on YouTube for a while" I started, "that was probably about four years ago" I said, thinking back on it, not believing it had been that long since then.
"Ashton wasn't with you guys?" She asked,
"Not originally actually," I spoke. "We had booked a very small gig but we didn't have a drummer at the time" I continued. "So one morning at like 2am we were all together and we messaged Ash over Facebook and asked if he'd play with us at the gig" I told her, laughing at the simplicity of the story.
"That's funny" she smiled. "How did you know him?" She asked, continuing the conversation.
"He had been going to school with us at the time and was friendly wth Michael" I responded simply.
She nodded, "so how did all that lead to worldwide success?" She asked with a laugh.
"This is pretty funny actually" I told her, laughing myself. "You know the band One Direction?" I asked her, and saw her nod. "So Louie saw our cover of Teenage Dirtbag online and somehow really liked it" I laughed, shaking my head as I recalled the horrible cover of the song. "He showed the other guys and then asked his record label if we could be their opening act and they agreed."
