Chapter 27

~Life is like a long staircase and I'm on the first step~


-Maddie's POV-

I ran up the stairs, step after step, gliding out of my vision. I was never doing that again.

"Here Em" I said handing her the ice pack.

"Thanks"

I just stood there like an idiot. Why does she even want to be here?

"So don't you want to leave now, ya know..... Since your finger is practically demolished by the window."

"No I'm good"

"Whatever, I'm going to bed"

I hopped on my bed, and pulled the covers over my body.

"Night"

"Night

-The next day-

I hate myself. I'm a..... well I'm a lot of things. Call me names. I don't care. But at least I'm not a big, fat, liar.

I was at school, and in an argument with Brooke. Ya..... she was covering my locker. So I said excuse me. Apparently she takes compliments the wrong way.

"Excuse me" I spoke trying not to sound annoyed. I have said it three times before I actually caught her attention.

"Excuse me?" she said sounding annoyed. I was done.

"You are excused, so can you please go block a different locker."

"No" she scoffed. Then she turned back to her friends.

"Listen here b****. I need to to get to class, so can you move outta my way?"

"What did you call me?"

"A b****"

With that, she crashed her fist with my jaw.

What the f***?

"What the heck"

"Next time don't smart a** me"

Well.

Atleast she moved.

"Maddie Brown and Brooke Knight, please come to the principle's office" spoke the intercom.

Why me?

-In Office-

"Ms.Knight, you do know, that I know that you punched Ms.Brown right?"

"Yes sir"

"So if you don't mind me asking, what happened?"

"I'll explain, so I was just talking to my friend in the hallway, when all the sudden, she comes up to me and says "Move b****" and she isn't even polite. So I say "Excuse me?" I'm so mad, she was the stupid one.

"So she just kept on saying all these mean things to me, so the only thing I could do to protect myself was fight back."

"Can I tell what actually happened?" I asked.

"Go ahead Ms.Brown"

"Thank you"

"So I was just on my way to my locker, when I say her, I politely said excuse my many times, till I finally got her attention. She said excuse me, and looked at me like I was crazy. So I said you are excused, and asked her to go to another locker, but she of course took the wrong way. So she said no. But I said to move again, and she punched me"

"And that IS the truth"

He looked at both of us and then made his final decision.


I have 2 weeks detention.
