How dare I ever think
You could love someone like me.
How unaware, how ignorant
Can I possibly be?
For as long as I live,
I'll always be labeled as that girl:
The girl who desires, but never receives.I know everyone reading this
Will roll their eyes.
To them I'm just too young,
But they don't realise.
They don't know
What I've gone through.
They don't know
What it would mean
To matter to you;
To be surrounded by your love,
To feel safe in your embrace.
I know I am human.
I know I've made some mistakes.But at least you're original.
At least you're unique.
Reiterate all you want,
Such words mean nothing to me.What happened to being hopeful,
Optimistic and loved?
Maybe you're just something
I'll forever dream of.For a moment,
As sad as it seems,
I truly believed,
The one I desired
Was interested in me.Perhaps maybe you do,
And perhaps I was ignorant for
Opening my heart to
Anyone other than you.So call me stubborn;
You can slander me naïve.
For this one time I'll believe
The one I desire is interested in me.
