I walked down the street towards tow station that was on the main road. I was happy when I saw the tow man putting gasoline in both the van and the car.

"Thank you so much." I smiled, pulling out my wallet. I pulled out $20 and handed it to the man. He shook his head. He was a big guy, slightly buff. His hair was thick and his eyes were bright blue. He wore red plaid with jeans.

"Keep the cash." He smiled, dropping my keys in my hands. He looked at me with some sort of gleam in his eye. It sorta scared me.

"Thanks." I nodded, taking my keys and getting into my van. I got in and drove off towards the main road and away from the town. Just as I was reaching the town line, a person or thing jumped in front of the van, causing me to slam the breaks and stopping.

"Mother of god!" I yelled, as I braced myself on the steering wheel. My head hit the top of the steering wheel. I gasped for air before I unbuckled and got out to see if there was anyone injured.

"Hello?" I asked, snapping my fingers, in hopes that would make the person better. They were lying on the ground. He was wearing baggy dark green clothes. Their hair was frizzy and orange.

"Oh my god." I gasped, going to my knees and looking at the person. "Please be okay..." I stated, looking at the person. I stood back up and rushed into my van, grabbing my bag and pulling out my phone. I snapped at it and put some life into my dead phone. Once it turned back on, I smiled and dialed for 911.

"Hello, 911 what's your emergency?"

"I was on my way home and I just hit a thing." I nibbled my lower lip and shook my head. I placed two fingers on the person's neck to check their pulse. They still had one. "He still has a pulse. He's still breathing." I rushed out.

"Ma'am, can you tell me your location?" The operator asked.

"Uh..." I stood up and walked to look at the mile marker that was a yard or so away. "In between mile marker 4 and the welcome sign." I stated, looking at the person lying on the ground.

"How is that heading home?"

"What? I live elsewhere."

"Ma'am, an ambulance will be right there."

"Okay. Okay. Thank you so much." I nibbled my lower lip. The person hung up. I went back into my van. I pulled my bag onto my lap and dug for a band-aid or something to stop the bleeding that was coming on my forehead. Minutes passed and an ambulance came speeding down the road. I got out of the van and walked over to the people who were taking care of the person I had hit.

"Will he be okay? He came out of nowhere."

"This isn't the first time Peter's done. You'll be fined with $150." A police officer stated as he came out of nowhere. I looked at him and nodded. I walked over to my bag and pulled out my wallet, along with my checkbook. I scribbled the amount on a check before tearing it out and handing it to the police officer. He took it and looked down at it.

"Rhode Island?" He looked at the check and I nodded.

"Yeah, I was on my way home. Got lost." I shrugged, looking back at the person who no longer on the ground but on a gurney. He was being rolled away and into the ambulance. "You said his name was Peter?" I asked, looking up at the officer. He nodded.

"Yes, Ma'am." He nodded, "He hangs out with that Grimm girl."

"Grimm? As in 'Brothers Grimm? Like the fairy tales?" I looked up at the officer before he walked off. "No. Seriously."

"I don't know ma'am." He remarked. Just as he started walking away, I knew I had to stay here.

"Is there a house or place I can stay in for a while?" I asked, looking at my van.

"There's a farmhouse just outside of town. It needs a little TLC. Why?"

"I think I might check out the sights and the town for a few days." I stated, pulling the door to my van open. "Thank you, Sir." I nodded before climbing into the van. I drove off and into the town, looking for the farmhouse. It was a little run down. But, there's a reason why I love my magic so much.

I parked my van on the driveway and stepped out of it. I snapped my fingers as I walked up the pathway to the front door. The grass that was previously yellow was now bright green and tulips sprouted from the ground next to the path way. I pushed on the door hard, hoping it would budge. Luckily enough, it did. I stepped into the house and smiled.

"Home sweet home it is then." I smiled, looking around the abandoned home which will be mine.
