Staying Focused!!

In a world full of phones, computers, tablets and electronics galore it's pretty hard to stay focused!

I mean, who doesn't want to text your friends they the night?

Well, unfortunately we gotta focus on the things we do. And luckily, I'm here to give you some tips!!!

Tip One-

Now, studying can be hard by itself anyway-but having your phone (or any other electronics)  can be twice as distracting

Now, studying can be hard by itself anyway-but having your phone (or any other electronics)  can be twice as distracting.

So, the first tip is to turn the sound off of all of your devices. The lack of notifications will definitely help.

If you absolutely need to use a laptop or a phone don't go on snapchat or Facebook; just so that one thing.

I also suggest putting your electronics on the other are of the room, out of sight.

Tip Two-

If you're a fan of music, put on a playlist!! But, don't go for your favorite dance music, try a more relaxing kind: like classical music!

While it's nice to listen to, it's also been proven that classical music can improve your IQ by several points and make you focus harder on more difficult tasks.

My personal favorite composer to listen to is Shostakovich, his music is slightly jazzy but more to the line of classical.

Tip Three-

Have a healthy snack before you study! I know how tempting the cookies, or pie looks, but they will just make you jumpy and it'll be harder to focus!

So, instead snack on an apple, or a banana! Have some water, and then head off to your task in hand!

While both of these foods have natural sugars, they won't rial you up like fake sugars will. AND the potassium in bananas lowers blood pressure making it easier to relax.

Tip Four

If you're tired, make sure you take a nap

If you're tired, make sure you take a nap. Having lack of sleep while trying to focus on something, can truly ruin your efforts.

So, take a 15 minute nap. Science has proven that 15 is the minimum amount of sleep to give yourself a recharge, but not make you overly tired!

Tip Five

 Don't try and focus when you're uncomfortable

Don't try and focus when you're uncomfortable. I know that wearing dresses (or slacks) can be mighty uncomfortable, especially when you're trying to lay down study a book.

So, put on some pyjamas! Who cares what other people think? If you're comfortable it's soooo much easier to focus on a given topic.

But, don't get to comfortable!!! You may end up falling asleep!!!
