Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted for such a long while. On another note;
I checked the demographics for this story earlier and I was surprised to see how many people lived all around the world. There are readers from France, India, The UK, The Philippines, America, Australia and even in Southern Africa!!! Check it out;
Snow. Dreaded snow.
Some of us love it, and some of us absolutely loathe it. For me, I'd rather jump in a pool of maple syrup than deal with all of it.
But here are my tips on how to survive this horrible thing we call winter.
1.) Wear big socks.
I know it sounds like petty advice, but fuzzy socks can help keep your feet nice and roasty toasty. You can buy a pair at the Dollar Tree for 1$. Also, there are some with toes, grippies and varying lengths. You can even buy some with aloe infused, or even some that are semi water-proof.
2.) Invest in Waterproofing Spray
Waterproofing your shoes can prevent scraping, water damage and ultimately ruining them. I put them on my converse, all of my suede looking shoes and also my winter boots. You spray it on like lysol, and let it dry for 24 hours, and after the wait you should have semi-water proof shoes.
3.) Wear Warm, Layered Clothes.
It looks uncomfortable, and sometimes it is- but staying warm is vital if you don't want your limbs to fall off. So, stuff yourself into that extra sweatshirt!!!
4.) Bring, or make Tea/Coffee (or coco) to School
My personal favorite thing to drink during christmastime is "Christmas Tea," by the company Twinings. It's a strong brew black tea, flavored with cinnamon, and cloves. It's slightly expensive, but if you're a serious tea-ateer then its worth it.
If you'd rather opt towards a cheaper, or less 'out there' flavor check out this website for some really good teas. http://www.gayot.com/Drink/Tea/Top-10-Black-Teas/(page)/1/Celestial-Seasonings-Morning-Thunder (copy and paste)
I like tea because it keeps my insides warm, rather than just focusing on my extremities. And once you find a flavor you really like, drinking it everyday has health benefits!
5.) Find a pair of comfy & sturdy winter shoes
It's expensive, but once you get a good pair they'll last for a few years and certainly work off their debt. There are a lot of really good brands, but I've always bought LL Beans boots. (Look at the website of LL Beans for boots.)
They have options for galoshes, their 'duck boots' or hard core boots. (duck boots below.)
6.) A Good Jacket
Again!!! Expensive sometimes, but the warmth it will provide you with will be absolutely worth it!!!! My favorites are the down stuffed jackets because they're lightweight and super warm. LL Bean also has some really good selections.
A picture of mine is below-- (Yes it's a men's jacket...)
That's it for now. Sorry again for the incredibly late update. Vote, comment and tell me what country you're from!!!! Im really interested because of that demograph!
Xx
