So recently I realized that school work is becoming more and more digital everyday. Whether you use PowerSchool, google classroom, Pearson, etc. Here are a few apps that I find makes life a million times easier!!
App Numero Uno:
My school uses PowerSchool. PS is an online system for teachers to grade things. As soon as they're imputed then the students will be able to see the grade on their app/laptop. This is great for saving yourself from the hassle of hauling your laptop around; you can download the app from the AppStore.
I'm also aware of several other apps like Edmodo and Pearson, but I don't know if those have actual downloadable apps for your phone. Otherwise, if they do have apps and you can download them and it will give you access to your grades and assignments quicker than it would be to hop onto your laptop.
App Number Two
For those of you who don't like planners or writing things down, this is the perfect app for you: myHomework Student Planner. Its available for free on iOS systems, but I'm not sure if it's available for android. If you are looking for other apps that you can use you can Search homework on the App Store and should be able find suitable apps to your liking.
This can be beneficial to you because when you have your phone with you, writing down all of your homework in it can be so much easier. It also eliminates the use of a planner or anything else that you use to write down your homework.
App Three
If your school uses Google classroom then this is probably great for you. Instead of going online every single time to find out your homework (or other stuff,) you can download the app and have all of your classes right there on your phone.
I know this is super easy for me, because almost all of my teachers used Google classroom. It just made everything so much more easy to access especially when my laptop was dead or I just didn't have it.
App Four
If you're not good at math like me, you can download an app called Fraction Calculator. This will help you do all of your fraction related mathematics. You can also use the one on your phone.
Another one I have is PhotoMath. This is like the godsend of all calculators. You can snap a photo of your equation and PhotoMath will solve the problem, while showing you the necessary steps to take to solve it.
App Five
The next app I'm talking about is for my fellow musicians. If you ever are in a rush for tuning your instrument, this app has a tuner and a Tone generator built into it. It's called 'insTuner.' It's good for developing musicians because it trains your ear to hear whether your instrument is sharp/flat or just right.
Another app which is more focused on guitars and other stringed instruments. It's called 'GutiarTuna.' It's really good for tuning, but it also has a chord library, metronome, and games to help you learn quickly.
App Six
The next app that I have had always helped me stay ahead in my language classes. It's called Duolingo. If you use this every day and you work towards a goal then it really does help you learn and stay ahead of your Spanish, French or Latin class. It also has games on there that you can play which will stimulate your brain into understanding and speaking the language,(which is proven to help you learn).
I used it a lot for my Spanish one and two classes, and as I progressed through the topics and challenges, the app actually helped me understand what my teacher was talking about more.
App Seven
Another thing that has literally saved my life was having google docs and google slides on my phone.
I used both of these apps very often in my junior year mostly for my honors classes. And usually when I needed to use the apps I had a big presentation or project over history, English or psychology, and when I had the apps on my phone I would be able to look at my phone screen and present my project while my laptop was away from me. This also allowed me to focus on my phone and to avoid the nervous jitters.
App Eight
Everyone needs a barcode scanner. Whether you use it often, or rarely, it really can save you time. It's one of those apps that's just good to have in case, and you can download at anytime really. At my school when we use barcode scanners we were usually doing surveys to find out what we wanted for prom or random stuff like that. You can find a plethora of them on the AppStore.
App Nine
Another app I used often was an app called "Brainly Homework Help & Solver." You post a question and people will answer it, and you can do likewise for others!!
App Ten
The voice memos app on your phone can be used to record interviews so you can transcribe them later. I had to do this for an anthropological study I did for my anthropology class. It's super helpful because you can export it to your laptop, and onto garage band, etc.
