Stiles and Vicky walked silently past the stands and Vicky grabbed the keys from Allison's outstretched hand. They started to walk back to the school in a comfortable silence, until they saw Lydia crying in a car. They both stopped walking and Vicky pushed Stiles towards the car "Speak, go" She walked ahead and waited a distance away.

Stiles spoke to Lydia until she heard a roar of applaud and started walking towards the school, Stiles caught up with her and she tutted him. "Did you leave her?" She asked "She's not going to like that" Stiles bit his lip but said nothing as they reached Gerard's office door. Vicky unlocked it using the keys and they began to search through his office, making sure they kept things neat and tidy.

After a few minutes of silence, Stiles broke it "Can you see it?" He asked quietly.

"Think I'd be looking if I had?" Vicky replied sarcastically, bent over files she felt someone behind her, Stiles and Vicky turned around at the same time and saw Erica.

"Hello Stiles" She grinned "Vicky" She grabbed Stiles and Vicky followed close behind down the corridor and into the swimming pools where a tall, dark, handsome man stood by the pool with a ball in his hand. Erica let go of Stiles who squirmed when he noticed Derek, fear radiated off him.

"Stiles" He greeted, without a smile "And you are?" He asked Vicky.

"Vicky, Lydia's cousin" She replied, giving him a quick smile.

"I'm Derek" He replied with a flash of a smile. Until he turned to Stiles "What does she know?"

"Everything" Stiles replied, looking at Vicky.

Derek shrugged and looked back at Stiles. "What did you see at the mechanic's garage?" He asked, playing with the ball in his hands.

Stiles glanced at Vicky and stumbled his response. "Uh. Several alarming EPA violations that I'm seriously considering reporting"

Derek gave Stiles a quick sarcastic smile before popping the ball with his claws, Stiles jumped at the noise and looked at Vicky for support. Derek also looked at Vicky, "did you see anything?"

"No" Vicky shook her head. "I was jumped and missed all the fun"

Stiles gawped at her, how could she keep her cool in the presence of Derek, who still terrifies him. "All right" Stiles began, wanting to get out of Derek's way as soon as possible "The thing was pretty slick looking. Um, skin was dark, kind of patterned" He thought for a moment "maybe even scales"

While Stiles was describing the creature, Vicky noticed Erica and Derek look up and walked over to the werewolf to get a better look at the creature. "Run" Derek shouted, pushing Stiles and Vicky in front of him, Erica lunged for the creature but it was too strong for her and threw her against the wall, knocking her out. The creatures tail whipped past Vicky's face and cut Derek across the back of the neck, to save him from falling in the water, Vicky grabbed and supported him walking to the other side of the room. "Can you see it?" Stiles asked, he took Derek's other side and supported them.

"I can smell it" Derek replied, he tried to look around but couldn't move his neck properly "Please hurry. Call Scott"

Stiles grabbed his phone and let go of Derek, causing Vicky to stumble and fall into the pool with Derek, she looked at him "Can you move at all?" She asked

"No" Derek replied, struggling in the water. Vicky grabbed him and looked at the back of his neck.

"Must be a paralytic toxin" She muttered.

"Where did it go? Can you see it?" Stiles shouted, he paced the side of the swimming pool with his phone in his hands.

"No" Derek and Vicky replied at the same time.

"Maybe it took off?" Stiles asked, with hope in his voice, as if in reply, a screech echoed in the room and Stiles jumped into the water out of shock, leaving his phone on the poolside. Once Stiles had reached Vicky and Derek they saw the creature at the edge of the pool reach in and touch the water before running off and hiding. "I don't think it can swim" Vicky pointed out "It looked like it was afraid of water"

Stiles swam out to call Scott. "Hurry up Stiles" Derek growled.

"Okay" Stiles replied "I'm on it". He picked up the phone and called his best friend. "Scott!" Stiles practically shouted, he then brought his phone down and looked at it angrily.

"He hung up on you?" Vicky asked "I'm going to kill him"

They stayed in the water for a bit longer while Stiles tried to contact Scott again. Until they heard a growl, Vicky swam her and Derek around to see Scott transformed and looking at the creature. They fought but it was too strong for him and he was shoved against a mirror which smashed on impact. Scott grabbed a mirror shard as a weapon but the creature looked at itself for a moment before climbing the column and jumping out of the ceiling window. Scott walked over closer to Vicky and Derek and proceeded to pull them out. Once they got out of the water, Vicky helped Derek to stand and he muttered a thank you before walking out of the room.

"Come on" She motioned to the teenagers "I want to dry off"

Vicky pulled on a grey sweatshirt as they were stood by Scott's car, she walked over to hear Stiles moaning "Is that even a language?" He asked

"It's Latin dumb ass" Vicky smirked at Stiles "I-"She began before Scott cut her off

"Learnt it in London?" Scott laughed when Vicky shoved him lightly against the car

"Yes, you have to take it in some schools" She paused for a minute "The creature, it's a kanima"

"A what?" Scott asked

"The creature is a kanima. Vicky's right" Derek walked towards the trio followed by Erica.

"You knew the whole time?" Scott asked, a little forcefully

"No" Derek admitted "Only when it was confused by its own reflection"

"So, it doesn't know what-"

"Who" Vicky interjected

"What else do you know?" Stiles asked Derek.

Derek shrugged in reply "Just stories" He said "Rumours" He then vowed that when he found who it was he would kill it and then walked off, with Erica close behind
