The alarm blared, Vicky slammed the button to turn it off and sat up; next to her Derek groaned, "couldn't your mom have gotten a later flight?"

"She's difficult like that" Vicky replied, pulling on a hoodie, "why are you getting up?"

"The bed's gonna get cold" Derek smirked.

"You aren't meeting my mother Der" she looked at the werewolf who smiled sweetly at her.

"Okay, fine!" Derek put his hands in the air when the blonde's eyes flashed purple, "no meeting Bethany Martin today"

"That doesn't stop you from ringing me on the way to the airport though" Vicky smirked, she kissed Derek on the cheek and grabbed her keys, "see you soon"

"Well we lived together as a family in London, until she got her big promotion, then it was just me and my dad" Vicky was on the phone to Derek, "she sent money but he spent all of it on ammo"

"So, am I actually going to meet her?" Derek asked.

"Of course, you're going to meet her, let her get in the country first!"

The car door opened, "I've got to go, see you soon!" Vicky didn't wait for a reply before ending the call, she smiled as her mother's face came in the car. "The boots open if you have luggage"

"You know what I usually do Vicky, I carry hand luggage and then buy stuff in the city I'm in" Bethany Martin said as she climbed into the passenger seat of the sports car. Vicky started the car engine and drove out of the airport.

"Slow down here Vicky" Her mother told her as she neared a bend.

"I don't need to brake" Vicky sighed, but did so anyway to avoid an argument.

Vicky slowly pulled into her garage and was about to get out when she sensed someone in her house, realizing it was Derek she revved the car to let him know they were home. "Victoria!" Bethany said reproachfully, she glared at the teen.

"Sorry" Vicky shrugged, "wrong pedal"

She opened the door to let them in and they walked into the lounge, "make yourself at home mum" she trailed off when she opened the door and saw the dark-haired werewolf in her kitchen-diner.

"If looks could kill" Vicky muttered, she noticed her mother turn to her.

"And who is this young gentleman?" She asked, looking from Vicky to Derek.

"This is..." Vicky started.

"Derek" walked forward and shook Bethany Martin's hand, "It's nice to meet you"

"Derek" Bethany repeated, shaking his hand, she let go and looked at Vicky, "and why is he in your house?"

"Well mum, me and Derek, are, um, dating" Vicky said, she avoided the older Martin's eyes.

Bethany Martin looked at Derek, she noticed his unsure expression and smiled, "well Derek, it seems the three of us need to have a chat.
