Katherines pov

The drive to the airport was only 30 minutes. The whole 30 minutes my ear buds were in and the volume was up all the way blasting all time low. I stared at the lights of houses and streets outside my window. Andrew fell asleep as soon as we got everything and ourselves in the car, i on the other hand. Couldn't have slept if I tried. We were close because I could see some planes taking off for their destination.

We pulled up to the front of the air port and I took a deep breath. I wasn't ready for this at all. We woke up Andrew and got out of the car, grabbing our luggage and boxes. There was a man who took our boxes to search them and then send them. We had to put our name on them and number just in case it got lost at this airport or the one in Australia.

We just started going through security when i got a text saying that my friends were on the other side waiting for me. My stomach erupted with butterflies, but not the good kind.

Security took to Long for my liking but we made it through with 25 minutes till our flight. We made it to the area to sit down, but had to find our flight number on the walls and sit by there. Our flight was number 0116 and it was to the far left so we headed over there.

It was quite odd being at an airport at night.

We grabbed a few seats and waited. I texted Dakotah asking where she was and she responded "look up"

I looked up and my four best friends were standing right in front of me. I got up and left my luggage at my seat and gave them a big hug. They all looked sad, and I was mad and said sos I probably looked worse than them.

"you made it Rain" I said with a smile.

"Wouldnt miss this for the world. I told my boss I'd work all day tomorrow just so I didn't get the night job tonight"

"That was so sweet of you but you didn't have to do that rain" i said felling a little bad that she has to work the whole day tomorrow.

"Shush Katherine I'm okay" she chuckled.

Rose and Rain chatted on while I was talking to Dakotah and Sebastian about the little things and how our car is gonna end up there with us.

"5 minutes till flight 0116 starts boarding" a lady said over the speaker that filled the whole airport floor.

Panic set it. I'm leaving them and everything. I will never forgive my mother for this.

"Katherine it's time to say goodbye. We have to get to the gate and get on" my mother said softly knowing I was already beyond upset. I mumbled an okay and stood up with my friends.

I went to Rose and Rain first, grabbing them and pulling them in tight for a hug.

"I'm gonna miss you guys so much. Last long, keep in touch with me okay?" They both let a few years slip out and nodded while holding each others hands.

I moved on to Sebastian.

I grabbed him and began to bawl, the tears wouldn't stop.

"Grey you better be good in aussie." He said with a little voice crack. I didn't want to let go. He was my best friend.

"Dakotah is really broken go hug her" he whispered into my right ear. I let go of him and nodded. I kissed his cheek, ruffled his brown hair, and moved onto Dakotah.

I smiled at her and hugged her so tight it felt like I was gonna break her skinny body. I couldn't stop the tears and neither could she.

"I love you lots kotah, don't forget me okay??"
She replied with a nod

"Now boarding flight 0116" the lady said.

"This is it guys, this is good bye." I said staring at all of my teary eyed friends.

"Come on Katherine it's time to go" I looked at my mom and nodded. I grabbed my luggage and headed to the gate. I waved and blew a kiss to all of them. I was almost at the gate and I turned around to look at them. They were all still there holding hands watching me slip out of their lives. I waved one last time as I gave the lady my ticket and headed into the tunnel to the plane.

This is it. This is my new life.
