Katherines pov

Calum and I arrived at this cute little meadow like place. There was fields of different flowers but there was some empty patches where you could walk in and sit down and relax. It's almost comforting.

"Wanna go to that patch over there?" Pointing to a patch in the yellow flowers.

I nodded but realized that most flowers make me super itchy unless it's just smelling them.

"One minor problem"

Calum looked at me with confusion.

"I can't walk through them, I will get beyond itchy and miserable"

"I gotchu Katie,hop on" he said turning around and squatting down so I could hop into his back. I jumped and got on his back and we headed towards the little spot In the yellow flowers. Once we got there he set me down and I thanked him.

"Alright calum, tell me things about you"I said while getting comfortable sitting next to him inside the tall flowers.

He clears his throat and begins to tell me about himself..

"Well my childhood was boring, just like any other child hood, imaginary friends and cool car toys. When I was 14 I started to get into music, I loved music with all my heart, I still do. And about a year ago I joined a band with my 3 current best friends. It's pretty fun, we write our own songs and we have a drummer and then two play guitar and I play bass. I tried to do guitar but I could not for my life. Music is just an escape for me. It just helps me when I'm not in a good mood or if I need to waste a few hours of my day"

He stopped talking and I took that opportunity to ask questions.

"Wait you're in a band?!!?" I said hella excited. It intrigues me a lot.

"Yeah it's nothing to serious but I'm hoping that one day people will know us" he said with a smile.

"Who are the band members?"

"We have Luke, Ashton, Michael and I, we call ourselves 5 seconds of summer. Michael came up with it and it kinda just stuck, but it's your turn now katie"

I took quite deep breath and began.

"Well it's just my mom brother and I. We left my father when I was in 4th grade for complicated reasons. Ever since then money has been kinda tight but my mom does the best she can. Back home I left my four friends Sebastian, Dakotah,Rose, and Rain. Dakotah is the love of my life. But not like that, I like boys, don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with being gay. Rose and Rain are together and it's adorable. Anyways, umm I had a boyfriend a while back but bad things happened so he's gone and I never wanna see him again. It was so horrible it still makes me cringe and it was months ago"

"If you don't mind me asking, what was his name?"

"His name is Brady" I said and rolled my eyes at the sound of his name.

"Well this so called Brady just gained an enemy, he sounds horrible."

"He is horrible I chuckled"

"Quick question for you Katie"

"Yes?"

"What's your actual hair color?"

I knew this question would come up and I figured should just tell him.

"If I tell you it has to be a super secret, no one can know, only like 10 people know back home and you'll be the first here."

"Okay it's a super secret, I pinky promise" he said sticking out his pinky and I quickly linked mine with his.

"I'm a natural blonde"

Calum gasped overly exaggerated "well I'm glad you're now this red color, blonde doesn't seem like you, too bright"

"I agree!! At least you get me, no one ever does. " I said smiling at him.

"Well im glad im one of the firsts!!"

Calum and I sat there in silence for a good five minutes lost in our own thoughts. The son went down a while ago so it was almost fully dark, yet still comforting.

"What's your favorite ice cream Katie?"

"Oh jeez this is a hard one, I really like strawberry but also like java chip"

"Well hop on mrs katie, were getting tubs of ice cream and heading back to your house!" I didn't hesitate at all as I hopped onto his back.

"Do you know what time it is?" I asked curiously not wanting to reach for my phone in my purse.

"Somewhere close to 8 were good on time, I can hang out at your house and eat ice cream with you and Andrew if you want, if he likes the kinda we get"

"Okay!! I think he will still be up when we get home"

We arrived back at the car so I hopped off of his back and headed to the passenger seat.

"Do you know how to drive??"

"I do, I'm licensed just without a car sadly"
I said buckling my seat belt.

"AW yuck, wanna drive us to the store?" He asked curiously before starting up the car.

"Oh gosh not yet let me get used to Aussie first cal, tell me in like 3 weeks and I will do it" I laughed and he nodded. We made our way to the store I first met him at and we headed inside for ice cream

The person working said hi to calum and hi to me. Him and calum chatted while just picked out ice cream flavors. I felt bad he was paying but he probably got an employee discount. I made my way back to calum with two quarts of ice cream in my arms and set them on the counter.

"All good?" Calum asked and looked at me to see if I wanted anything else. I nodded to tell him I was good and he took out his credit card to pay for it. He got like $5 off which is hecka good.

We took the bag and said goodbye to the dude working and drove down the straight road until we saw my street and turned. We pulled into the driveway next to my mom's car and got out, bringing the bag with us. Once we stepped inside the house I called for my mom to tell her that calum is staying here for a little and brought ice cream.

Andrew and mom appeared in the family room with us and waved.

"did you guys have fun?" My mom asked me smiling at us two. Calum and I responded at the same time saying yes.

"Well I bought some ice cream let's eat it" calum said setting it on the kitchen counter. I grabbed 4 spoons and handed them out and we dug into both kinds, strawberry and java chip.

We all made small talk and enjoyed the ice cream. We only ate for like 30 minutes and then calum had to start going home.

"Keep the ice cream here, if i need any I'll come by" he said and winked before hugging me and my mom and saying his goodbye.

"Wait calum, I need your number" he took my phone and entered his number and hugged me one last time before exiting my front door.

Today was good. I made a friend.
