To Whom It May Concern… Or whoever first comes across this,

Well, it’s a given that I don’t know what your reaction is going to be at the sight you’ve come upon.  A dead body is never pretty, obviously.  But it had to be done.  After all, in your hearts, you know that no one is really going to miss me.  No one really wanted me around.

But I do have a last request… or two.

I don’t really care about funerals or whatnot.  Do what you want with my body.  It isn’t really mine anymore anyways.

But I’m assuming you’ve opened this letter first since it had a huge “OPEN THIS FIRST” message on the front of the envelope.  The other envelope and the recording are what I’d like your help with.

Please send the other letter right away to the high school, and make sure it gets delivered to the hands of Principle Talope.  At 2 o’clock on whatever day it is you’ve found me, please make sure the recording arrives at that time, also to Principle Talope.  In the second envelope, I have left specific instructions for the principle about what to do.  Let’s just say that the recording… is a last farewell message, filled with my confessions and my story.

If it really is too much of a hassle, I understand.  It’s okay if you can’t do my final requests.  It doesn’t really matter anyways, since I’m dead.  There are better things to be doing with your time than to be carrying out the wishes of a dead person.

But if you can carry them out, then I thank you, with all my dead heart.

Sincerely,

Lucy Nelson
