(It's Monday, but school was cancelled for the day. For them.)

A few days after I woke up, the doctors said it was okay for me to leave. Corny, or should I say, Vincent, has been by my side the whole time. Literally. He will not go away.

He follows me to the bathroom, where he stands outside the door and waits for me to finish. He sleeps in my bed with me. He never left my side at school.

It's really sweet, but sometimes it gets super annoying!

We just woke up for the third time today. Corny, or should I say, Vin, didn't want to get up, so we laid in my bed for the whole morning. Now, we were getting ready to go Halloween shopping. We may be too old to go trick or treating, but I liked to hand out candy to the little kids. And since Vin wouldn't leave my side, he was going to do it too.

As I headed out to the car, Vin ran ahead of me and opened my door. "Such a gentleman," I said, rolling my eyes.

He bowed. "I will do anything for the one I love, madam."

I sat in the passenger seat and he closed the door. Then, he went to the drivers door, opened it, then sat down in the seat. He closed the door and started the car. "Better put that seat belt on."

He sighed. "I was just going to, babe."

I pulled my seat belt on, too. "Good." I leaned over and kissed his cheek.

He smiled and started driving. "So, where do you want to go?"

"I thought we agreed on Party City?" I said.

"Oh yeah. Their stuff is pretty cheap," he agreed. "Can I buy scary things to scare the children?"

"No that would be rude," I said.

"But it's Halloween!" he whined.

I shrugged my shoulders. "Good point. Also, you whine a lot."

"I always make good points. I'm Corny Jameson!" he said, ignoring my other comment.

"Well, Corny, I haven't heard one of your jokes for a long time. Care to shoot one at me?" I said.

He stopped at a red light and faced me. "I told you not to call me that! It's weird when you say it."

"Okay, Vincent. Does that make you feel better?"

Vin smiled. "Yes. Yes it does."

"Ummm...Vin? The light is green," I said. He turned his head and got back to driving. "So, how about a joke?"

He thought for a second before saying, "If you stood in front of a mirror and held up a rose, you'd be looking at the two most beautiful things in the world."

I felt my cheeks heat up. "That's not a joke." I crossed my arms and looked out the window. "But thanks, I guess."

The rest of the ride was silent. When we got to Party City, Vin parked the car and ran to my side to open my door. After that, he closed the door and locked the car. Then, he grabbed my hand and we made our way inside.

"You know what we should buy?" I said.

"Scary things?" he said.

"Those things that you put on the sidewalk. They make a loud snap when you step on them," I said.

He smiled. "Yes! I loved those things as a kid," he said.

"I know," I said. I every once in a while, I would drop a hint that we knew each other as kids, but he never got it.

"How many should we get?" he asked, looking over the shelves.

See? He doesn't get it.

"Probably two bags." I grabbed two bags and put them in the basket we had. "What else?"

"Ooo, this one!" he said, grabbing fake cobwebs. "Can't forget the spiders."

I put some fake spiders in the basket. "What should we dress as?

He picked up two outfits. "How about these?"

Vin was holding a witch and a warlock costume. There was a couple staffs laying nearby so he grabbed those as well. The witch costume was a long black and purple dress with a pointed hat and tall collar. The warlock was more like a giant 'cloak' instead of a dress and his hat was also black and pointed. Then it's colors were black with white stars all over. The staffs were brown and rugged, but we're rounded at the top.

I smiled with a nod. "These will be perfect," I said.

"I've had my eye on them for a while," he said nonchalantly. We picked out the rest of our things, paid for them, then loaded them into the back of the car. Then, Vin started up the car and we left. Once we got back to my house, we grabbed everything and went in. We threw everything on the kitchen table and went into the living room, where Jace was yelling at his computer.

Vin ruffled his hair. "Why you yelling, little bro?"

Jace scoffed and smacked Vin's hand off. "Lachlan and Vikk! All they have to do is build over to their neighbors island, kill their egg, then kill them! Then they'll be out of the game! What's so hard to understand about that!?"

Vin sat down by Jace. "They're trying to get over there without being spotted."

"Go through the back!"

"Bro, they have bows. It doesn't matter which way they go, they will still get shot off, and their egg was taken out already. If they die, they'll lose." Vin threw his arm around Jace's shoulders and gave him a side hug.

"Oh. I never thought of it like that. Thanks, bro," Jace said.

"No prob."
