I woke up to soft breathing on my neck and yelling downstairs. I sighed knowing that it was Mom and Dad. All they ever do now is fight. They used to be so loving and caring to one another. It's not like that anymore.

And it's all because of Dad.

Mom, Jace and I all found out that Dad has a girlfriend. He's been having an affair behind Mom's back. Ever since we moved here, he's basically been hooking up with another woman. After he let that secret loose, they started fighting almost every moment of the day.

"Vin? Why are you up?" Meg said. Her morning voice was sexy as hell.

"My parents," is all I said. She kissed my cheek and snuggled back into my side.

"I'm sorry," she whispered. "I wish I could do something."

"Me too, Meg, me too." As we laid in my bed, the yelling got louder and louder. Then, I heard a snap, with a scream following right after. "Meg, I can't not do anything! I have to help my mom." I got up and ran down the stairs as quick as lightning. When I reached the bottom of the stairs, I saw Dad hovering over Mom.

Mom was on the floor and Dad's back was facing me. He lifted up his leg to kick her when I ran as fast as I could and body slammed him to the ground. It took a bit of effort, but with the speed I ran at, I was able to take him down. I quickly helped Mom up and that was when I realized what the snap was.

He broke her arm at the elbow.

It was pointing in the wrong direction. If I wasn't so mad at my dad, I would pretty much throw up. The sight was nasty. I can't believe he would do this, especially to a woman.

"Fuck you, Vincent. She deserves what she gets," Dad fumed while standing up.

"No one deserves to be beat to shit, Dad," I said.

"She started the fights. Now I'm ending them," he said.

"You should've been a real man and took what she was giving you. You don't just beat up your wife because you're a weak ass boy. You probably feel like beating her up makes you bigger. Well, guess what, asshole. It makes you lesser than her. You're just more scum that was added to the world on accident," I said, my anger boiling up. Mom did everything she could to support us and he was beating her for it.

"You know what? You were a mistake anyway. We had sex on our honeymoon and you were conceived. We weren't even ready for a kid, but we still put up with you," Dad yelled. "I thought about giving you up for adoption, but no. Your mother wanted to raise you."

I clenched my fists at my sides. "That just means she's more of a man then you will ever be."

That was enough to set him off. He punched me across the face, which sent me to the floor. He started punching me over and over again. I got a few punches in before he nearly collapsed on top of me. I scrambled out from underneath him and he fell on the floor.

He had a knife in his back.

I looked at Mom who was crying. "It's okay, Mom. It's okay." I hugged her before grabbing the phone and dialing 911. Before we knew it, the police were there. The paramedics came in after them and checked on all of us. They put Dad on a stretcher and as he was being wheeled out, he said something.

"If I make it, I want a divorce."

"What an idiot," I muttered. She only stabbed him near his shoulder.

"Ma'am, can we take you to the hospital?" a paramedic asked Mom. She nodded. After someone checked me over, they said I was fine, but I have many bruises forming.

I thought about what he said. Was I just a mistake? Even if I was, I'm glad Mom raised me. She gave up a lot for us and that makes her our Mom and Dad.

Dad could go to Hell for all I care.

So, Mom was rushed to the hospital and at that moment, Margaret came downstairs with Jace.

"Hey, babe. Jace."

They walked over. "What happened?" Meg said quickly.

"Just my jackass of a dad. He beat Mom so bad, she's got a broken arm. And bruises everywhere."

"He did what?!" Jace yelled.

I put my hand on my forehead. "Please, no more yelling. Mom got him back. She stabbed him while he was beating me."

"He what?!" They both yelled.

"I'm fine. Just- Bruises," I said, trying to mask my pain with nonchalance. They must have saw right through me, because they hurried up and grabbed advil and water for me to take. "Thanks guys."

They sat me down on the couch and sat next to me. We sat in silence for a while before Jace said something.

"Is he...uh...dead?" he said.

"No. He's alive," I said. "Unfortunately."

"What happened?" he asked. I told them what happened. They had different emotions throughout the whole thing. You could see it on their faces.

"Unbelievable. He's such a jackass," Meg said.

"I know. That's what I thought," I said. I wrapped my arm around Jace's shoulder and rested my head on his. "It'll be okay. He's finally showed his true colors."

"It's hard to believe, though. I've only heard them fighting. I didn't think he was that evil," he said, leaning onto my shoulder.

"Yeah. Me either."

"Do you think he will be arrested?" Meg asked.

"I hope so, Meg. I hope so," I said.

Hiya.

This was another time skip. I'm pretty sure I didn't make it clear. It's the day before Halloween. Well, technically it is Halloween because it's like 3 in the morning.

Hope you liked, and sorry it was so short. I'll try to make the next chapter longer.

Thanks for reading.

*And 600 views* ;)

Also, it took Meg and Jace so long to get downstairs because Jace sleeps like a bear in hibernation. He could literally sleep through a tornado and hurricane while they're happening and the same time. Meg couldn't wake him up. cx
