Corny

Ever since I asked Meg out, she's been a little distant. I don't know why, but I hope it has nothing to do with me. If it does, I would have to try harder to fix whatever I did. I just want to figure out what's going on with her. I would be a bad boyfriend if I didn't care or didn't try to figure out what's going on.

I didn't go over to Meg's house today because she told me she wanted to be alone. Jace was over at his friend's house, so I was at home by myself. Mom called and told me she was going to stay a couple more days in the hospital to heal better. I feel like she could've come up with a better excuse because I know she likes the service at this hospital. She can get good free food and a free hospital stay; why would she want to leave?

Her words, not mine.

Right now I was playing the most annoying game in the world on my phone: Flappy Bird. It was really addicting, but every time I died, I would get angry and shake my phone until I'm satisfied. Then, I'd replay the game and rage again when I lost.

The game got boring after a while, so I went downstairs and grabbed a snack from the fridge. While I was eating it, I got a call from an unknown number. Not wanting to answer it, I declined the call. A couple seconds later, the same person was calling. This time, though, I answered it.

"Hello?" I said.

"Hey, baby," she said.

I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose. "I'm not your 'baby' anymore."

"Oh, come on, Corny. We had something. You can't say you've forgotten it already," she said.

"Yes we had something. We don't anymore, Patricia. I've moved on and so should you," I said.

"I can't move on. No one breaks up with me and tells me to move on!" she said with a squeal to her voice.

"Stop hanging onto the past. This is the present," I said.

"I don't want to!" she whined.

"You remind me of Megan," I said, sighing afterwards.

"Who the fuck is Megan? Is she your girlfriend?" she said.

"Oh- Ew, no. I met someone twenty times better than her. We're happily in love, so if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna hang up. Don't call again," I said, hanging up.

Man, girls are so confusing.

I finished my snack before heading into the living room. I plugged in the Wii U and started to play some games. I could never get bored of games; they were always interesting no matter what.

A few hours later, I was thinking about calling Meg, but I wasn't sure if she would answer, so I didn't call. I was going to go back to playing video games, but I decided I would go for a walk instead.

Damn. My life is hella boring without Meg.

I plugged my headphones in and started listening to music as I walked. I was thinking about what Meg was doing and how she was feeling. Maybe something happened to her that she doesn't want to talk about?

How am I supposed to know? I'm not her.

Although I do wish she would tell me what's wrong, I decided not to dwell on it.

I kept walking until I reached the smoothie shop. Opening the door, I walked in, grabbed some money out of my pocket, and got in line. I always keep money on me no matter what because I'm always hungry. I could literally eat anything at any time.

"What can I get for you?" the man asked.

"I'll take a..." I quickly scanned the big menu above his head and had decided, but before I could any anything, he did.

"We don't have all day," he said, crossing his arms.

I glanced at his name tag which said 'Grey'.

"Well, Grey," I said, looking behind me. "There are no other customers behind me, so unless you have some hot date to get to, I suggest you keep your panties on."

"You think your so much better than me? Want to take it out back?" he asked.

I snorted. "Just because you hate your job, doesn't mean you can take it out on me. Give me my order and I'll be going," I said slamming the money onto the counter.

"Nice going, jackass. You never told me what you wanted."

"That's because you were to busy getting your panties in a twist," I retorted.

"Oh fuck you!" he said. The whole shop went silent and stared at us.

"You wanted a fight? Today, five o'clock sharp. I'm taking my fuckin' money elsewhere," I said, taking my money and leaving.

I may do jokes, but I do have a nasty side.
