Ray's Pov

"What would you like to eat, sirs?"

I gripped Ash harder and turned to look at the waitress in a pink and white checkered apron. She had a big smile plastered on her face and she held a clipboard in hand.

We were in a small restaurant in Sydney according to the small sign under the restaurant's name. Finding the restaurant was easy but finding Sydney was not. The grasslands were difficult to go through. Somehow, our legs burning with exhaustion, Ash and I, found our way into a busy street.

Almost getting killed by a huge car, Ash and I had made our way into this restaurant where absolutely no person came in. I was surprised that they hadn't shut down this place. The whole place screamed EMPTY FOR AGES!

It wasn't like me to go to a place where it was empty and all that but I knew that Ash deserved the quiet. He had seemed restless all the time we were in the grasslands. It wasn't quiet there at all. Saying from experience.

I pulled Ash behind me and made him sit next to me. He shifted slightly and leaned his whole body against me. I almost moaned at the warmth spreading through me from his touch. The waitress barely noticed our love showing-off and fixed her brown eyes on my face. I could tell that she didn't mind having a gay couple in her restaurant as long as there was someone.

"Bacon would be good," I mumbled, loud enough for her hear and turned to Ash. He nodded too and I turned back to the waitress.

"Two plates of bacon, please."

The waitress nodded and left us to ourselves. I could hear my stomach growling and Ash's too. I chuckled lightly and Ash's head snapped up to meet mine.

"What the hell are you chuckling for?" he demanded, his green eyes bright with unknown fury.

He was angry and feeling bitter, I realized. He wanted some food, some good sleep and maybe a kiss, I guess. I leaned down and kissed him lightly on the lips. He leaned in, begging for more but I pulled away, leaving him to groan in disappointment.

"Ash?" I called softly.

"Hmmm?" he answered, playing with the table-cloth.

"Ash, do you ever wonder what could have been if we were normal?" I asked, shifting myself so that Ash fell into my lap.

His eyes widened but he didn't pull away. "I don't know. Being normal now seems so far-fetched."

I sighed. "I guess so."

It was my failed attempt at a conversation. I couldn't speak about anything without ending it abruptly. Ash closed his eyes and slowly drifted off as I looked around for any danger.

Suddenly, there were footsteps walking towards us. Out of instinct, I jumped up - making Ash cry out - and sprang on the person, giving them a good kick in the ribs. I heard a groan and then a scream and then someone was grabbing me from behind. At that precise moment, two plates of bacon fell atop me, but before they could fall to the ground, I caught them as easily as breathing.

"What the fuck?!" screamed a male voice from underneath me. "Getoff me, you dumbass!"

I slowly got up and started into a stuttering mess of words. "I.. I'm sorry. I th-thought y-you were s-someone else."
