Ray's Pov
"No way. This isn't happening again. Now get out of here before I kick your ass to next month," I snarled at the guy. He scowled at me and crossed his arms adamantly.
"This isn't about what you want. It's about coming with me right now or all four of you gets knocked out and put in leather sacks. Option one or two, guys?" he said.
I could feel the desperation rising in my chest. Ash and I had gone through so much in our lives and now this. I couldn't go through this again. The guy leaning down on my window seemed genuine but I couldn't risk it. But what if he was a good guy after all? Or maybe not.
"Option zero," Ryan hissed. I saw his hands tighten on the wheel. As if in slow motion, I watched his knuckles turn white as he held on tightly to the wheel. He put pressure on his leg and then we were speeding away, just like that, leaving the creepy guy behind in the dust.
"How does the dust taste, creepy?" Ryan yelled. That sounded totally wrong, I wanted to say but I kept quiet.
"Horrible."
Ryan let out a string of colourful words and Ash screamed. Right next to us sat the guy with the yellow eyes. Ash scrambled on top of me and I wrapped my arms around him in an obviously ineffective way of protecting him. But I'm still not letting go of him. Ash leaned back into me and I could almost feel his wide eyes staring into the other guy.
"Look, I know I look all sorts of creepy and stuff but I'm not here to kill you like those-" he turned to point out the window "-people are. You certainly don't want to get killed do you?"
Ryan cursed rather colorfully when he turned to look back. At least ten men were following us around in motorcycles. Yeah, so cool.
"Damn it! Step on it, Ry!" Ariel yelled. One of the men had come closer and held what looked like a gun in his hand. He's going to kill four Heafis' with that?
Ryan ran on full throttle not even stopping for the red light. I was pretty sure a police car was also tailing us now. Maybe those bikers would slow it down.
"We'll have to get out," Ash whispered so quietly, that I wasn't sure Ryan and Ariel had heard. But they had.
"What?!" we all yelled, even the creepy guy whose name I still didn't know.
"We can't outdrive them," Ash said, his cheeks red from all the attention he was getting, "We'll have to get out of the car and fight them. I don't know what this guy here can do, but I think he'll help."
Ash stared at Creepy for a while. Creepy nodded. Just perfect. I groaned. This wasn't what I wanted but I guess everyone else was considering it.
"Ash is right," Ariel said and Ryan nodded reluctantly with her. Creepy just stared at Ash creepily and I felt Ash squirm on my lap. I glared at Creepy and he smirked before looking away.
"Getting out of the car? Roger that!" Ryan yelled. "Throw the doors open and jump out on the count of three!"
Before we could say anything to that, Ryan started his countdown.
"One!" He swerved the car round and I felt bullets ricochet off the sides of their car.
"Two!" I was hearing Katy Perry in my head. What the hell?
"Three!" All of us threw open the doors at the same time. I held Ash securely in my arms and jumped out. I heard a wild screeching and then a deep crash. Gosh, we could have just died.
Ash groaned from below me and I quickly rolled over and stood up. I helped him up and he fell into my arms. The feel of his body on me was intoxicating; I didn't want to hold anyone else other than him. I thought about all that happened to him and felt the guilt and regret wash over me. I had been stupid. I deserved all the punishment I was getting now. But Ash was with me. I didn't deserve it but he wanted me. How could I say no?
"Come on, let's kick those fuckers asses," I said and Ash simply stared at me. I could Ryan holding his hands out and then from a distance saw three men shoot out of their bikes and slam into each other. That was pretty much the start of a victory.
It didn't take long to finish them off. It was easy. They were all so weak and we had Ryan. I still didn't know how to use my powers and it was getting annoying but I didn't want to complain.
I watched from the fucking sidelines as Ryan sent two of them overboard and out of sight. Five down, five to go. I didn't see Creepy anywhere but before I knew it, I saw a fire blazing. I watched it closely and then realized it was only directed at the other five assassins. They went down. All ten down.
We all stared at Creepy as he slapped his hands together, a strange gleam in his eyes.
"Fire Heafi?" I groaned. He nodded and I groaned once again. I had the same power as Creepy. Great. Fucking great.
Watching Ash using his powers was something else.
I watched his every move as he placed his hands lightly over Ryan's wound he had got when a bullet shot into his arm. He winced in pain as Ash's hands started to glow with a blue fire. His healing fire. I wish he would heal my heart with those hands of his.
"You're all done!" Ash announced happily and skipped towards where I was sitting. He practically toppled on top of me and I laughed as I lost my balance and fell down.
We were sitting by our crashed car; Ryan, Ariel, Creepy, Ash and me. I still didn't want Creepy there but I didn't want to ruin the moment. It was peaceful; at least for a while.
I pulled Ash tighter towards me and kissed the nape of his neck. He giggled adorably and I continued pressing my lips to his skin while he continued to squirm in my touch. It was quite cute actually.
"I love you, Ash," I whispered. I didn't hear a reply and raised an eyebrow. I bent over and looked at him. I smiled when I saw his sleeping face in front of me. He cuddled against my chest and I just brought him closer. He scrunched up his nose adorably and I lightly kissed it. No harm in that.
"I'm gonna go get a car," Ryan announced. "Be back in a sec."
And he was gone. I turned to Ariel but she was sleeping. Well that left just Creepy and me.
"Why are you helping us?" I wanted to know so badly.
"Because you are the good guys," he replied, his eyes closing. He didn't look so scary anymore, just a tad. "Because no matter what happens you'll always be here in some way or the other and I feel like I should protect you."
I wasn't surprised by his answer. I had kind of expected it. But still...
"So, what is your name? Is it Scary? Or is it Creepy?"
He opened his eyes and flashed me a playful glare. "Ha-ha. Very funny. Very close though. My name's Cray."
Well, I was close.
I hadn't put the fight in detail. I'm sorry about that. I just didn't know how to write it. This chapter is just crap. The whole story is full of crap, I know. But guys, please don't send me hate comments or anything. It just hurts, really. So, if you hate the chapter, just do whatever in your house, your room or wherever. Anywhere but in the comments.
Anyway, thanx for reading. Vote and Comment, please.
