Ray's Pov
My heart was thudding. Beating against my chest so hard. And suddenly I was aching all over.
I lay on the floor, my naked body shuddering. I had curled myself into a ball. I shut my eyes from the world; I didn't want to see anything.
There was a searing heat that engulfed my body and I yelped. I was burning. I could feel my skin start to blister and then shrivel away, revealing flesh underneath. But I didn't move. I deserved to die. After all I had done...
I opened my eyes.
The room was on fire and on the bed lay the prone form of Miles. I could see his chest rising and falling as he breathed and he looked unconscious. But my eyes passed over him quickly. He was not what I was looking for.
Ash stood in the middle of the burning debris, his arms outstretched in front of him. His eyes burnt holes into me as he glared at me. I wanted to die. Maybe I was going to die right now.
He stepped forward and the flames rose higher. I screamed as the fire scorched me. The smell of burning flesh rose in the air.
I heard sirens then. I blinked in confusion but then realized that someone must have called the fire brigade. But I knew I probably wouldn't survive this day. They would be too late, and all three of us would die.
And then all of a sudden, the fire, the flames, the burning and the smell of rotting flesh vanished. My eyes widened. I stood up just in time, to see Ash swaying on his feet. His eyes closed slowly and he fell to the floor.
"Ash!" I screamed. I ran over to him. He seemed pale and quite... dead. I frantically searched for a pulse and was relieved when I found one. He was only unconscious.
"Ray...." I heard his beautiful voice moan. I pulled him onto my lap and stroked his hair silently. I had said those cruel words to him but I loved him. I loved him with all my heart. And I despised and hated myself for hurting him so cruelly.
He started writhing in my arms and I worked to calm him down. He did not relent. I felt my heart pounding again. He was screaming now as if he were in pain. I could do nothing to wake him up. He seemed trapped in his dream.
"He won't wake up," I heard someone say from behind me. I felt a cold hand on my shoulder and I shuddered. "And nor will you."
And then everything went black.

Third Person:
He stood up. There was no sign of the fire that had scorched his entire body. The boy would pay.
He groaned in pain. He wanted to fall back to comfort again but it would hardly work. He shook his head and then felt the magic work on him as his burns all smoothed out to soft skin.
That's better.
He opened the window and felt a cool breeze play on his face. The trees were swaying slightly and the air smelled clean. But he paid no attention to the beauties of nature. He was looking for something or rather, someone.
