B3CH13 - The Firebending Masters

Yoko was leaning on a column with her arms crossed, looking at the campfire, thinking deeply. But she was pulled away from her thoughts as she heard Zuko "Listen everybody, I've got some pretty bad news. I've lost my stuff." he said.

Toph raised both hands to her head "Don't look at me," she said and folded her arms "I didn't touch your stuff."

"I'm talking about my firebending. It's gone."

Yoko's eyes widened. Great. We have two firebenders in the gang and none of them can firebend.

Katara and Sokka started to laugh, everyone's attention was focused on them. Zuko looked at the Water Tribe siblings with an annoyed expression "I'm sorry. I'm just laughing at the irony. You know, how it would've been nice for us if you lost your firebending a long time ago." Katara said.

"Quite sensible." Toph said and turned to Sokka "What about you, boomerang brain?"

"I'm laughing at our chance." Sokka said "We have two firebenders and both of them lost their bending. Aang, dude, you're a very unlucky person."

Zuko's eyes widened "Wait, Yoko lost her firebending, too?"

Sokka, couldn't you just hold your damn tongue?

Sokka nodded "Yeah, she said she had lost her inner fire or something like that."

"Sokka, shut up." Yoko muttered but he ignored her.

"She said that her firebending source was her love towards you and when you bet-" he said but before he could finish, Yoko earthbended him into the parallel wall "HEY THAT HURT!"

"SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH UP, YOU FUCKING IDIOT!" Yoko roared. Aang leaped up. Yoko took a deep breath, trying to calm down.

"What happened to you?" Zuko asked to her "You weren't like this."

"I'm an inhuman, emotionless and merciless assassin, remember, Zuzu?" she said, then tilted her head "Or did Mai suck your memories about me when you two were snogging?"

"I thought you were changing!" Zuko said "You were better when we were in Ba Sing Se!"

"If I'm acting like a heartless bitch, it's because of you!" Yoko shouted "I was feeling some things, I was feeling love again! After four years of loneliness I was feeling safe in someone else's arms other than the sleep's! The barrier of ice that I've built up around me was melting but no, you had to ruin everything, didn't you?"

Zuko was in shock, he was not able to talk.

"The little girl you know is gone, Zuzu. I tried to kill her long ago but didn't succeed. But you, you managed to kill her only with a sentence." she said "While killing her, you broke the last pieces of my heart and made my humanity vanish away!"

Without saying another word, she got inside the temple, went to her room and shut the door behind.

Katara had come and said that Zuko and Aang will be going to look for the original firebending masters. Taking that as an opportunity to regain her firebending, Yoko agreed going with them.

Now, they were riding on Appa for hours and finally saw some ruins which Appa landed on. They got off and started to walk through the ruins "Even though these buildings are ancient, there's something eerily familiar about them." Zuko said.

"Fire Sages' temples?" Yoko said. Zuko nodded.

"I can tell they are somehow descended from these." he said.

"Okay. We've learned something about architecture." Aang said "Hopefully, we'll learn something about firebending too. The past can be a great teacher."
