Not So Best Friends

Chapter 6

*Gwen's P.O.V.*

     *Monday Morning*

I was running late, I was running late, I was running late. It was only the second day of school and I was running late. I never did this, I never ran late. My mom was working from home today so she drove me to school. I was really running late... by the time I went to school it was lunch time. I don't why I was running so late. Well I did get up late but I didn't even notice it was that late. I fell asleep at a good time too so how would I sleep in? My mom dropped me off and quickly ran to the classes I miss to get all the work I missed. I shoved all the papers in my backpack and slammed the locker and ran to the cafeteria. I slowed down as I approached the entrance.

I looked over to the table to see everyone there; Ashton, Michael, August, Calum, Luke, Elisabeth, Jackie, and Erin.  I quickly walked to the table and August moved over. I plopped down and put my arms down. I hit my head on my arms then letting out a big sigh. "UGHHHHHHH. I never in my whole entire school life including Pre-K been late too school, ever!" I loudly sound picking up my head, resting my chin on my hand. "Calm down you psychopath. It happens." Elisabeth exclaimed. "I can't! This has never happened to me. And its only the second day of school. I fell asleep at a good time say like 11 o'clock." I explained.

I finally took a breather and calmed down. Ashton gave me some french fries and I was all good. I looked diagonal to see Luke giving Erin a goodbye kiss. I move towards August and whispered in her ear, "They official?" She nodded. Great I have to see that everyday now, I'm gonna throw up my food. Remind you I'm still mad at Luke for ditching us because of that stupid party. I couldn't stop staring at them. As soon as Erin walked away Luke turned around and we made eye contact. I quickly slammed my head down onto the table not noticing I didn't put my arms down first.

All you heard was a big bang and me saying, "Ow" loudly. It was time for our next class and we all got up I was walking with Ashton, talking about the song he wrote for their new album. I felt someones appearance beside me. I turned to see Luke walking next to me. "Hey... hows your head doing?" He asked. "Fine thanks for asking." I said rudely.

I quickly caught up with the girls. I was never rude to Luke... well that's what he gets for calling me a bitch last night.  

*Luke's P.O.V.*

"Well she obviously still hasn't forgive me for that stupid mistake." I said sighing. "Just give her time Luke remember it just happened yesterday. Maybe later talk to her." Ashton said showing a half frown face. "I tried last night, I texted her four times and she didn't answer me. She completely ignored me." I said. "Well your lockers are next to each other so talk to her there and hurry up before class starts." He pushed me to my locker.
As I opened and got my things for next class I closed my locker to see her still getting her things. I waiting for her to close her locker. She saw me waiting but she rolled her eyes and turned and started walking, I grabbed her hand. We both looked down and I let go. "Please don't move I really want and need to talk to you about what happened yesterday." I pleased. "Well we can't there's no time anyways class is starting." She stated. "Well after school when the group goes to Starbucks can we sit alone at a table for 5 minutes so we can talk." I said. "Yea, if you don't ditch us again." She walked into class. There she goes with the ditching again but Ashton was right it did just happen yesterday so I'm gonna have to get use to it if we don't make up.

*Gwen's P.O.V.*

    *After School - Starbucks*

I just had arrived at Starbucks, everyone was already there because I told them to go ahead without me because I wanted to talk to the teachers about some of the stuff I missed. I walked in ordered a 'Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino' and waiting for my drink on the side.

I grabbed my Frappuccino and turned around I saw Luke get up from the group table to go sit to an empty table. And I spotted that Erin was at the group table too. I went to go sit at the empty table where Luke was sitting. "Get to talking you have till I finish my drink so chop chop Blondie." I stated.

"Okay. Your my best friend and I already miss talking to you even though it only happened yesterday. Yes I made a mistake, I forgot about the group get together but I didn't mean it. I forget things, I'm a human being. And I know your probably gonna be still mad at me after this but I'm sorry for ditching you yesterday. It was just... I was just caught up with Erin the whole day I forgot and she gave me the idea to have a party. I was going to invite you guys, I did invite you guys but from where me and Erin were we had bad connection so all the invites didn't send and we didn't notice." He explained. "You. Luke Robert Hemmings throw a party. You hate throwing your own parties at your place because you don't want to deal with the mess the next day. You only like going to parties." I said taking a sip of my drink. "I know but Erin gave me the idea and I was just energized and in the mood to kind of throw one so I did." He said. We both paused talking because both our eyes caught Erin walking over to us. She looked at Luke and then me, "Can I sit here and talk to you too?" She asked with that shy voice of hers. I showed her the sit and said "might as well."

"I know your probably mad at me to because I gave Luke the idea. But we did try to invite you guys and I know it did feel like ditching but if he hasn't told you yet about the invites and the poor connection then..." She said before I cut her off, "He told me that part already." I exclaimed. "Okay well then please don't be mad at Luke he didn't do anything, just be mad at me if you want because I gave him the idea of throwing the party." She spoke. I sighed then looked at my drink and moved the straw around. It got quiet at the table. I looked up at them both to see them staring at me.  "Well you guys are just in luck that I didn't take this last sip because I would of been done if I did." I finally spoke. "Also I guess I'm not mad at you guys anymore I'm still a little upset but I'll get over it by the end of today now that you guys have talked to me." I continued. Erin jumped out of her sit and clapped, "Yay!" and then she gave me a hug. Well never saw someone that excited for me not to be mad at them anymore. I looked at Luke and walked over to him. "You happy quiff boy? I ain't mad at you anymore." I said smiling. He smiled back and opened his arms. "Hug?" He questioned me. I went on my tippy toes and hugged him. I wish he would shrink so I wouldn't have to go on my tippy toes. We both turned to the group to see them staring at us. Then someone finally spoke and can you take a guess who? Michael.

"Finally you guys talked everything out and forgave each other!" He shouted. Everyone looked at him. "What I do now." He sighed. We all kept looking at him.
Then we all cracked up, "Wait I still don't get it." He spoke up. We continued to laugh.
