Not So Best Friends

Chapter 8

*Gwen's P.O.V.*

*Later that Thursday*

The bell rung and everyone rushed to their lockers. The only thing we had for homework was study for our English quiz, I grabbed all my English papers and books and stuffed them into my bag. I ran outside of the school to meet with everyone. "Who's house we studying at?" Jackie asked. "We can study at mine." I insisted. They all nodded and we started to walk, Luke caught up with us but he brought Erin of course. I looked back at him and rolled my eyes. I don't get why I rolled my eyes, I'm still mad about yesterday but I had this feeling I was actually jealous of both of them. And I hate it when other people are right.

We arrived at my house and got all our books out. When we all study together we usually go with two people and then when were done we review it all again all together. Me and Calum were studying in the dinning room together and Luke and Erin were standing in the kitchen studying. The others were in the living room. "Okay listen Gwenifer." Calum said, I looked at him with a confused face. "Gwenifer?" I giggled. "Yup its your new nickname I have for you." He smiled. I couldn't stop giggling. "Anywayyyyss... I ain't that smart Gwenifer so we gonna have to take the studying slowwwww." He said everytime he would say that nickname I would crack up.

"Can you guys be quiet were trying to study." Luke spoke. I shot a glare at him. "Sorry not sorry. Can you guys be quiet we can hear your kisses." I sassed him. He rolled his eyes and I turned my eyes back on the book. We acted like we hated each other and if that's how it is now well then fine by me. "You ok?" Calum asked. I nodded and started questioning Calum about this book we were reading. An hour went by and we finished studying about the whole book. Michael and Ash walked in, "Eeww can you guys bring that to a bedroom, god sake we eat in here." Michael said. Ashton slightly covered his laugh. "Right." I said, I looked at Luke and he gave me the middle finger. "Hey dumb ass I have one too well actually I have two." I said raising them both at him. "You guys act like you guys hate each other now, what the hell." Ashton said. "Well she's the one jealous and being a bitch. My face got red, I got so mad that he said that I was jealous. "I AM NOT JEALOUS!" I swung up and yelled. Michael and Ashton backed up. "Well damn..." Calum trailed off, "Luke maybe you should take Erin in the living room." Calum continued. "Gladly." Luke gave me a dirty look and grabbed Erin's hand an walked into the living room. Ashton and Michael followed them but then Michael ran back and grabbed the chips, "Forgot these" then ran back.

I banged my head on the table and groaned. "Hey hey calm down its okay." Calum said. I looked up and groaned again, "Erin changed and then Erin changed Luke." I spoke. All he does was groan. "I hate it and I don't like how he says I'm jealous." I rolled my eyes. "Well you are acting like it. Don't kill me." He said putting his arms up covering his face. "At the lockers today he asked if me and you were a thing and I said no and I asked him why he cared and he said no reason." I said, "and when we were at lunch and we were laughing I looked at Luke and he nodded his head down." I continued. "Maybe your both jealous but don't want to admit it." He answered.

I hate when people are right. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. SOOOOO MUCH! "Maybe I am jealous..." I whisper to myself out loud. "What?" Calum's eyes widen. "Uhhhh... nothing. Lets go in the living room and review with the others now." I changed the subject and got up. He got up and stopped me, "You said you are jealous. Does that me Mrs Gwenifer likes lukey." He said smirking. "Idk." I paused. If I'm jealous that my guy best friend is hanging with someone that I don't like and that makes me jealous because he gives her all the attention and hangs with her more than he does with me. That means I like him right?

Calum smirked, "Gwenifer has another crush on Lukeyyyyy." He started singing. I put my finger up to his mouth, "Shhh." I said. He nodded and walked into the living room. Everyone was watching tv. "What happened to reviewing?" Calum laughed. "We got tired." August coughed.

We watched TV for a while then I went to the kitchen. I was craving for some peanut butter. I grabbed a spoon and the peanut butter jar and started eating out of the jar. I kept thinking about how I so call like Luke. I put back the peanut butter jar and when I went to go put the spoon in the sink, I turned around and jumped. I ended up falling. "WHAT THE HELL!" I yelled. Looking up. Just when things couldn't get any better, I was looking at Luke. He leaned down and grabbed my hand to pull me up. Not noticing how hard he pulled me up we hugged. We both backed up quickly. Wow... we never back up from a hug. "S...sorry." Luke stuttered. "Its whatever." I looked down patting my ass off from all the crumbs on my ass. We looked at each other, just standing there staring at each other. Then I walked out into the living room. Why were we just staring at each other? I would love too know. I sat down next to Calum and put my head on his shoulder.

Luke walked in and I glanced at him. He took Erin's hand and walked toward the door. "Where are you guys heading too?" Ash said. "I have to go home and watch my brother." Erin stated. We said our goodbyes and I put my head back on Calum's shoulder. All Luke did was walk her to her car and back. He walked into the living and glared and me. He looked hurt. "I'm gonna go lay down in bed,I have a headache." Luke said with his hand on his head. Before he walked up the stairs he looked at me again. I looked away quickly and then looked up at Calum, "Hey I'll be back I'm going to change." I said getting up.

I walked up the stairs into my room. I saw Luke sitting on my bed. I was shocked. "Hey" He said, "Hi." I went to go get comfortable clothes out of my dresser. Then sat next to Luke. "So..." I trailed off. I played with my fingers waiting for Luke to respond back.

"Why do we hate each other?" He responded. Well I don't know because we don't talk or have any interactions anymore since you keep ditching me and we keep fighting. "We don't?" I said confusing. He looked at me, staring at each other for another minute. "Tell me the honest truth. Do you think Erin changed me or is changing me." He said. "YES!" I yelled. I coughed... "I... I mean, yes." In a lower toned voice. His eyes almost popped out. "How is she changing me?" He snapped. Here we go. "Um well you never ditch me. Okay nothing against the group but I got over that time u ditched all of us but i know for a fact that you would never ditch me in a million years. And you ditched me for a make out session. What's more important Luke? A make out session with your girlfriend or helping your BEST FRIEND study for a math exam?" I said. I said best friend loud enough for him.

"I don't know..." He trailed off. Oh he doesn't know? Don't best friends come first before any kind of relationship?

"Oh you don't know. Okay then I don't know how I..." I out my hand over my mouth. "Never mind" I paused. "No no say what you were going to say." He spoke. I nodded no and laid down on my bed.

"How do you not know what's more important. Kissing or studying." I said, "oh wait your the new Luke I forgot kissing is more important." I continued. He snapped his head at me, "no it's not!" He yelled. That kind of scared me. "Then why did you ditch me for that. Oh yea because you wanted to make out with your girlfriend. Grow up Hemmings, making out with someone isn't gonna get you anywhere. You'll only get a bed and consequences." I got up took my clothes and walked into the bathroom. I slapped the door, "SHIT!" I heard Michael scream. I think I scared him. I locked the door and slid down.
