Not So Best Friends

Chapter 4

*Gwen's P.O.V.*

"I Like Luke Hemmings." Everyone read. I closed the book and looked down. It was awkward, it felt awkward. I looked up and saw Luke looking down. "At least it was a long time ago?" Jackie said. "It's not that bad since it happened a long time ago" August stated. "Wow well true about what August said. But Why didn't you tell us before... Or tell Luke." I looked at Luke, me and him made eye contact. "Yea why didn't you tell me" he spoke. "Because I didn't know what would happen. Plus I didn't want anything to ruin our friendship or anything with the group." I answered sighing. "Do you still like me?" He finally bursted out the question, "No. And if anything You and Erin are doing fine and I don't wanna ruin anything." I said... I don't like Luke like that anymore, I don't.

"Well then there's nothin to worry about anymore see you go the secret out and nothing bad happened." Calum said. I looked at him an rolled my eyes, I'm still mad at him. "Now can you go get the popcorn so we can start the movie?!" Michael Said. I got up and grabbed the popcorn. I put the popcorn in the coffee table and sat down against the wall as Ashton pressed play for the movie. We were watching Mean Girls and Means Girls 2, Michaels favorite movies. We have probably watched these movies about a billion times!

Luke came to sit next to me against the wall. Oh lord, please don't sound awkward around him. Everything's over already so just chill Gwen speak normally. "How ya doing down here?" He asked spreading a blanket over us two. "Fine now that I can finally be warm since it's freezing in your house" I giggled quietly. We both laughed. "Question." Blonde boy spoke, "Yes?"

"If you let's say... Liked me again in the future, you would tell me this time right instead of hiding it?" He asked, "Yes I promise no more secrets between us Lucas." I smiled. "Stop calling me Lucassss. He whined. I laugh and he pouted. We continued to watch the movie and I rest my head on his shoulder and he rested his head on mine. Best friends can do this right? If anything they are able to now.

     We continued to watch the movie until the power went out. We didn't even notice it was raining outside and it was pretty bad. "FIX THE TV SOMEONE." Michael yelled. "Michael chill. We can't put the movie back on until the power turns on." Luke stated. He crossed his homes and got up, "well wake me up then when it comes back on." He said walking upstairs. "Um where are you going to sleep Michael?" Luke asked laughing. "Your room!" He yelled from upstairs. All Luke did was nod and bite his lip.

    "Hey are you doing anything tomorrow I was wondering if we could hang just us before the get together?" I questioned. "Yea of course." He smiled looking down at his phone. I looked over too see what he was looking at his lock screen was him and Erin. We use to be on his lock screen... "I like your lock screen." I smiled. "Thanks we took it before we left the boardwalk." He blushed.

    I didn't know what else to say so I got up and went up stairs into his room. Michael was still up looking at the ceiling. "Can I join you I don't want be hanging down stairs anymore." "Sure I'm just looking at the ceiling and thinking." He spoke. "Watcha thinking about?" I asked Michael high pitched. "Okay so Ashton and Jackie already know this but I think I like Elisabeth..." He trailed off sitting up and looking at me.

*Michael's P.O.V.*

    "Okay so Ashton and Jackie already know this but I think I like Elisabeth..." I trailed off talking to Gwen. Only three people now know I like Elisabeth I have two others and of course... Elisabeth. "Awe that's so cute. I think she likes you too on how excited she is when she talks too you." I responded, "I want to find out so that I could maybe ask her out, but then again what if something happens I don't want it to be awkward in the group." He stated. "Nothing will happen and I will ask her when she sleepovers my house tonight okay?" I responded. He nodded.

     "So you liked Luke." He smirked. I face palmed. "I don't like him anymore!" I shouted. He back away from me, "okay okay jeez don't get your panties in a twist." He said laughing. I crossed my arms. "You know since Luke has a new Girlfriend or Girl in his life you guys are going to become distance just like the rest of us." He said tapping his fingers on his knees. No, that could never happen. Luke would never distance himself from the group even when it came to a girl. But what if Michael is true... He already put him and Erin has his lock screen but that's me being over exaggerating.

   "He would never do that Michael. He's never done it before, and for sure he won't do it now." I explained to Michael. "Things change Gwen, things change." He said. It became quiet in the room. All I kept thinking of his Michaels words "Things Change." Nothing will change and I will make sure of that.

The light flickered on and Michael and I both looked up and then went down stairs with the group. The movie was back on and I sat down where I was sitting before but Luke wasn't there. I looked over in the couch to see if he was there and he wasn't. Where could have that blondie went? "Um.. Where'd Luke go?" I asked. "Why do you want to know where Luke went." Calum smirked and winked at me. "Do you want me to punch you." I rolled my eyes. "Come on give me the best hit you can go far." Calum laughed sarcastically. "Enough already!" Ashton announced loudly, "When the rain stopped and the power turned back on Erin was calling him so he went outside to talk to Erin."

"Oh okay." I said taking all the blanket and cover me in it. "You jealous yet?" Calum stated. "I swear Calum if you don't shut your little Asian mouth you won't be able to see out of your little Asian eyes!" I shouted. "I. AM. NOT. ASIAN!" He shouted breaking his sentence out.

The front door opened and Luke walked in, "what's with all the shouting." He laughed. Everyone was silent till Michael opened his mouth. "THEY WERE FIGHTING ONCE AGAIN." He snarled. Everyone laughed, something about Michael made us laugh. He sat back down next to me and I shared the blanket with him.

"So you were on the phone with Erin." I grinned nudging him. "Yea yea we were talking about tomorrow night as our 2nd date." He smiled. Tomorrow night... Tomorrow night... Tomorrows our get together as a group. "You didn't forget about our get together did you?" I question. "Uh... No." He said, but he paused in between. He did forget. I sighed "oh okay." We both continued watching the movie. I would put my head on Luke's shoulder but I didn't feel like it. So I tapped on Elisabeth to give me the couch pillow if she wasn't using it. I put the pillow on the left side of me and laid down and closed my eyes. I felt a nudge, "you could of put your head on my shoulder." Luke whispered. I shrugged and closed my eyes again.

Maybe Michael was right... Things do change. People change. Luke has a new person in his life now....

I'm just gonna have to deal how he is going to be away from us a lot. And that I won't have his attention.

I can do that.... I think
