Chapter 26-Diving competitions and dirty dishes

Sonya's POV

After that crazy "mission" we decided to all take a nice swim. All besides Mrs.Astro of course. We wouldn't want her ruining the fun by saying things like "Luke get away from Callie!" Or "Don't jump in the six foot section, you might still get hurt" or the best "don't eat in the pool!". Oops too late because Tanner is eating Pizza on a blue float and Vincent is also eating an ice cream cone on a green tube with a whole in the middle of it.

We are all getting ready for a diving competition. Austin and Ariel aren't able to play for obvious reasons, if you didn't know she is a water goddess and he is water god. Okay Maybe Water King and Queen. I don't know they aren't married and they never plan to be. They don't like each other like that. Logan likes Ariel and Gianna and Austin have a thing. I think Ariel likes Logan too, it is a little hard to tell because she likes to talk to everybody. He usually approaches her from what I see so that doesn't help much. I think she does though.

Then Luke is trying with Callie even with hawk eyes after him. Samuel has a thing for Shelby and Shor has a thing for Paige. Aden and Autumn are practically a couple already. There are a few more bur I am not gonna talk about anything romantic because I like to stay hidden.

I am also not playing because...well I don't want to. The winner get to choose two people who do the dishes tonight and also do the dishes for them when it is their dish duty. It is only applies once though. Once they work one dish shift the deal expires. So basically two dish washes with the two people that thing person wants some revenge on or something.

There are a few people who might want to pick me because I accidentally scared the, half to death. I didn't know that my ear plugs weren't in when I was watching horror movies on my phone. At first it was embarrassing but then it was hilarious and had me dying from their reaction. It was a low budget movie but with really good acting. Those two things are hard to find but I manage to find them. So Callie, Paige, Lyla, Clayton, and Collin might pick me. It was last night after we were all so tired too, I was sitting down stairs in the living room. Some people didn't care because they were so tired, I would have been one of those people.

"Vincent! Tanner! The sooner you get off you those floats the quicker we can dive!"Gavin shouts and they both exchange looks between each other and shrug. They "gracefully" leap off the floats into the water and then head to the ladders to get out of the pool. It is the heated one because we don't want our bodies to go into shock. We were gonna use the regular pool but Crystal almost fell in and she said that it was so cold she thought her body stopped working. Vanessa also stuck her foot in and though she lost a limb so....we are good with that. I don't know how cold that water really was but we are not taking chances.

"Everybody line up across the pool!"I demand and people follow as I say. My dad and grandmother always told me I have a serious and commanding voice so I should have been something I would be able to use my authoritative voice for. I guess this works for now.

"Okay you can get a total of thirty points, this round is formation. We will eliminate six of you. The next round with be jumping though. You can do whatever kinda of jump you want, adds some uniqueness to it. Then we will have a round where you will either jump or dive. Then the final round we are going to have you dive, jump, and then swim across the pool,"Ariel lists all the rounds and all the information and rules we need to know.

"We decided that third place winner get to be first for their food for dinner tonight and second place will get ten dollars. We all know how disgusting dish duty is so that will be first place still. That is unless you want to trade a prize. I am telling you, you will regret the money or the food if you see those plates,"Austin declares the prizes.

"Before we start do we have any questions?"I ask and they all exchange silent looks.

"Each round is out of thirty points, correct?"Luke questions.

"Yes,"Austin answers.

"Any more questions?"Ariel says looking around.

"Besides round one, how will the elimination go?"Vanessa asks.

"Round two we will eliminate five, round three we will eliminate five, and then we will pick our three winners from the remaining five. The other two people who make it to the final five receive bragging rights for the rest of the month along with the other winner. The first place winner receives bragging rights until they horribly fail at something,"Ariel replies.

"Why should the final five have bragging rights?"Luke questions.

The three of us look at each other before I come up with an answer. "They get them because they beat the rest of you suckers, which is 21 of you, and got approval that they are unique from an Aquarius,"I say and Ariel and Austin nod impressed at me.

"I rather be called organized by a virgo,"Tess says.

"Then your formation better be good,"Ariel snaps jokingly and blows a whistle. Where did she get that and where can I get one? I want to blow it in people's ears.

"Alright we are going to start this off with Aden!"Austin calls of his clipboard as we sit in chair and take our white boards and markers . How was I able to have this job? Three judges are usually better than two, everyone else wanted to dive, and they don't try to stop me.

Aden stand up on the diving board and quickly dives into the water. It was sloppy but quick and it made a perfect little splash. He comes up, gets out, and goes and sits in the chairs like it never happened. We all look at each other before flashing our cards.

"6!"Austin shouts.

"7!"Ariel announces flipping her card.

"6.5!"I shout and I made that decimal point really big so people nod approvingly. "That gives you a 19.5!"I nod and he shrugs and nods. I know there is going to be worse.

"Autumn!"Austin calls up.

She makes her way up the diving board and dives beautifully into the water. I see some people clap and I try to hold back my clap because I am a judge.

"8.5!"Austin shouts.

"9!"Ariel smiles and holds up her board high.

"9!" I yell. That gives you a 26.5!"I announce her final score for the round.

"Tanner!"Austin reads of the list.

Tanner smiles, stands up, and skillfully dives. I nod trying to think of a score.

"6.5!"Austin says. He is being that harsh judge.

"6.5!"Ariel nods.

"6.5,"I nod and he shrugs. "That gives you a combined total of "19.5!"I announce.

"Who wants a break?"Austin shouts looking tired as ever.

"Be back in ten minutes!"I shout and he runs off.
