Chapter 9-play nice! Okay this makes no sense!

Aden's POV

"Ariel you are excused for the rest of tonight. We have two more challenges. I already people who will win,it is not rigged it is because if something I will tell you later,"Mrs.Astro tells us. I still wonder about who she is married to.

"For this you will be working in partners,and you and your partner will both win,"She tells is and we all nod. "You may pick your partners!"She tells us and well all look around at each other. Me and Gavin ends up together and pretty much everyone ends up with someone they are friends with or decent with. So basically nothing like picking partners for school projects.

So it ends up being. Gavin and I. Shelby and Ariel. Lyla and Lindsey. Shor and Vincent. Clayton and Patrick. Then Tess and Collin got stuck with each other which wasn't there first pick but they don't mind. They are friends and some people have other thoughts but right now I am not going to think about those things. I am a guy I donMt want that girl gossip.

"Okay for this challenge you will be set up so one partner is under water with the gear and one is above reading off cards. Your partner will be forced to read you truths and lies. You will take the clues to find a door at the bottom of the pool,your googles will be pitch black so you can't see. You will use your first instincts and senses to try to figure out what the truths and lies are. Sounds confusing but once you get in the water you should develop a code because you don't have to read them off in order so somehow you have to communicate. This will be the hardest challenge but this will help your skills with listening and working with others. You don't get out,it just goes bye who finds the doors first. Now put on this gear,"She says pointing to the pile. Some of us wear confused looks,some nervous, and some look like they want to kill her a little bit. I look at Gavin.

"Do you-

"I will go in the water,"He answers before I finish asking and I nod.

"Fine by me,"I say and get situated as he goes and starts to put the gear on.

"Wait a minute! But Ariel is sitting out does that mean Shelby sits out too?" I point out to Mrs.Astro and she shakes her head and I look confused at her.

"Shelby will go in the water and I my assistant will be reading her the clues,"She says patting Shelby's back who is next to her. Ariel shrugs and walks over the nice comfy looking chairs where Mrs.Astro will sit. I would love to see her do this! Who does these sorts of things to people? Her!

"Okay is everybody good?"She asks and all the people going under nod. She blows the whistle and Gavin dives in. I get a card placed in my hand and I start speaking into the mike.

"Okay you can't say anything but the clues!"She shouts and walks towards the seat next to Ariel who sits amused. Lucky her. She was set up to win though! Mrs.Astro even said that.

"Okay Gavin,the door is two steps ahead and one step back,"I lie into the microphone and he doesn't move. Good, we are doing good so far.

"Okay now take a step back,"I lie again,and he still stays put. I can hear frustration from other groups.

"How are we supposed to do this?"Tess screams and Mrs.Astro just smiles an shrugs at her.

"That is up to you guys!"She laughs.

"How if all we can read are the clues?"She hisses and Mrs.Astro totally shuts her out and starts looking at other groups I laugh as she speaks into the mic to Collin.

"Okay two steps left one step right,"I tell him and he does so. Wow, he is good is it the way I am doing this. The crazy part is I am not even using tone yet to set truths from lies,which is the only thing we can actually do. The card says that if we do that we have to change our lie and truth tone for every card so it can't stay the same. Which makes that even harder!

"Five steps forward one step back,"I say and what he does amazes me! He moves four steps forward and two to the side. I didn't even say that! He is getting close though! If the next clue is two to the right and he does so we get first. That is weird. He must be the person that this challenge is made for! He is using senses or something!
What happens next makes me wants to do flips. The next card is two steps to the right! He does so and the door opens. The siren goes off and Mrs.Astro starts clapping. The other groups look at me like I am crazy and in disbelief we did it so quickly

"We have our first group done! Which means that you can stop and I tricked you! You don't need to finish! Again why that group won will be discussed at the end of the night! Now that is really dark we are approaching our least challenge! This is typically my favorite and the one to make people sweat!"She says and there are lots of moans and groans. She is sick! She is insane! This is all too crazy to comprehend with all this adopting stuff and powers. Is this what this is all about? So she can tell us some of our powers! So far an Aquarius and a Gemini have one,what does that mean? I guess all the answers to my questions will be answered tonight.

"Now let's move on to our next activity! I am glad that was confusing but glad it didn't take long?"Gavin says nudging my in the side.

"Dude,that was all you,I had no part in us winning!"I whisper and he shrugs.

"We will see I guess!"He says jogging up near the front. Show off! Who am I kidding? I do the same kind of stuff!

I sigh and jog up,can this night get over with. The stars are now out! What are we supposed to do in the water when it is this dark! This better be go-Wait she said we would sweat! I don't know what she has plan but it doesn't sound fun one bit at all.
