Chapter 29-Tree, tree, and card

Logan's POV

"We are here!"Vanessa exclaims. I guess because she is in the front she decided it would be fun to announce things. I was half asleep and half awake so it gave me a little shock from the loud tone of her voice. I was enjoying me nice little nap too, maybe if I just went back in time for a few minutes and put duck tape over her mou- okay I need to stop. These powers are giving me thoughts.

"I smell the ocean!"Gianna says pinching her nose.

"Yeah I wouldn't be surprised my friend. It is that big blue/clear liquid all around us,"Ariel remarks patting Gianna on the back. Gianna rolls her eyes and hops down from the last step of the bus.

"I smell crap, does that mean we are surrounded in crap?"Clayton says tilting his head as he exits the bus and we all cringe.

"No, unfortunately that smell is from your shoes,"Gianna points down at them and Clayton sighs and walks towards the water to go clean them off. Did that bus become a farm when I was napping?

We all exit the bus and put it in lock position. The first time I went on a mission the bus wasn't locked and when we went back it was floating. It was pretty funny but Mrs.Astro didn't take it that way. Now to see what kinda if whacky mission we will go on today!

As we exit we come across a big sign attached to a stick in the ground. Looks very welcoming and heart warming! It looks like we are stranded in on an island! Which....might be the case. Vanessa and Collin approach the sign and they both examine what it says.

While they are looking at the mission and all that I am going to observe my environment. Like we thought, lots of water. I honestly think we might be on a island right now. I don't even think we are still in the country. We never needed our pass ports! What a shame. I think that bus takes us to different dimensions or something.

Where there isn't water, there is sand and where there isn't water or sand there is grass. At least we aren't surrounded with rock. I don't think some of us are dressed to do much climbing and stuff. Who knows though, maybe we will climb some water. I don't know how, Austin and Ariel might though. Can I just sit in a float and drift off a waterfall? It is probably better than this mission.

"Okay! Everybody gather up!"Collin calls us all over and we migrate over to the sign on the stick. I am starting to like the sound of that. I could make a whole theme song and jingle for it.

"So what's the mission?"Tanner eagerly questions. This might be our last moments of peace and nice smelling bodies. Okay I just made that sound weirder than I wanted it to be. Back to Tanner!

Vanessa turns to the sign. "The sign says As a group of twenty-four teenagers you will be set to the test today. You will go on a scavenger hunt, using clues, to visit the twelve constellations engraved on the island. You have as much time as you need. You can split up and do a few at a time or take a constellation at a time. You pick whatever feels right,"Vanessa reads and we all nod trying to take in all the information.

"At each constellation tree, the sign's name and symbol will be on it. Below this sign are twelve cards holding clues for each tree. After you visit each tree, you will preform the task that the card AT THE TREE asks you to do. This might seem like the last mission but it isn't. You are releasing the constellations. Once all tasks are done at each tree, you will report back to this sign and press the red button. That is when the bus will take you back to the boarding school. I look froward to seeing you there and telling you more about the unleashing of the constellations. Good luck!"Vanessa reads and we all stand there for a moment before speaking. I feel like this is one of those things that sounds complicated but is actually going to be easy.

"So in all there are twenty-four cards?"Paige asks and Vanessa nods as she takes the cards of the signs and looks through them.

"That is what I am getting from this,"Collin adds. "Twelve cards here. Twelve cards at the trees,"Collin says and we all nod.

"I think we should stay together for the first challenge,"Crystal suggests and we all look at each other and nod.

"I thought we learned smaller groups worked better!"Paige says a little confused and we look around and slowly nod at her. We all just turned into parents who don't know what to say.

"They can and they can't. I am not saying for this whole mission, but for the first couple we should stick together,"Tess explains leaning towards Crystal suggestion. Paige nods and shrugs.

"Okay so what sign do we want to do first?"Lindsey questions. She seems a little more energetic than usual. She is usually pretty quiet and lets others make the decisions. This is different.

"Sagittarius!"Samuel votes almost in a screaming matter.

"Leo!"Luke protests.

"Aries!"Aden yells.

"No! Cancer!"Clayton nods.

"Virgo!"Vanessa and Vincent shout in unison.

"Sagittarius it is,"Collin nods and the other voters sigh.

"How is that fair?"Luke asks narrowing his eyebrows.

"He voted first,"Collin shrugs.

"Can I be second?"Luke questions. "Since we were and all."

"Yeah can WE be second,"Lyla nudges Luke.

"Well I was gonna say Cancer since Clayton was calm about it,"Collin basically tortures Luke and I try to hold in my laughter. Luke likes to be first and likes to be proud of himself. We all know that and we know his weaknesses because of that.

"Third?"Luke begs.

"Sure,"Collin nods and pats him on the head.

"Beggars can't be choosers!"Austin shouts. Wow. That gave me the chills. He is usually pretty calm. All the calm people are coming out of their shells for this mission! Am I gonna yell something out soon?Sometimes you just can't control things and you got to yell them.

"What does the clue say?"Shor asks to try to get things rolling. I remember when I first met him and he was trying to embarrass me in front of Paige and Ariel. Ever since that though he has been cool.

"It says..."Vanessa starts but Vincent rips the card out of her hand.

"To find the sign of Sagittarius you must find a bridge on your map! Once you have located this bridge you will approach a big tree with the sign and it's symbol. Once you get there the card at the tree will instruct you further. Have fun!"Vincent reads.

Vanessa glares at him and snatches it back to hold herself.

"YOU NE-

"Let's go!"Callie smiles and puts her hand over Vanessa's mouth. Wow, Callie was reading my mind. She moves Vanessa away from Vincent and we begin on our journey of peace and quiet.

Haha that is funny! No, there are a lot of screaming people and arguments right now. I just want to find this tree. The sooner we get these over with the more we can know.
