I STRUMMED my guitar for the hundredth time but no words keep on escaping from my mouth. D*mn it.

My phone beeped which startled me.

'Hey Kate! Heard you're around. Wanna meet up? Just the two of us. – Connor xx'

I smiled as I read his text message in my mind.

'Sure thing. :) When and where? - K xx'

I replied at Con. Just a few seconds, I already got his reply.

'Later, at 3 pm. My apartment. ;)'

'I'll be there at exactly 3. See you, xx'

Actually, I have nothing to do today. I'm just stuck up in my room. Without anyone to talk to. Sometimes, this kind of silence makes me crazy. Leaves me imagining things that I know would barely happen. Like, marrying Bradley and having kids with him. That's just so crazy, right?

'No, I changed my mind dear. I'll be there in twenty minutes. ;) – Con x'

I read another message from Connor. I checked my fridge if I still have something stuck there or else we'd be going out on restaurants again. Connor loves to eat, I mean everybody does.

I've been living here in Washington, alone in my apartment, which is just some drive away from New York. Actually, I invited my bestfriend, Jessica to stay with me and she'll be moving in next week. But she's still in Philippines, visiting her grandmother.

Not minding the time, I turned on my sound system and played Taylor Swift's 1989, since I got the physical CD.

The first track was Welcome To New York. And this song was really catchy. When I reached the middle part of Shake It Off, a knock on my door came. Loud enough for me to hear, against the sound system. I lowered down the volume of the music and then opened the door. Seeing Connor Ball on my door.

"Hi Con." I greeted.

"Hi baby bear." He greeted back, I opened the door wider for him to come inside. "Come here and give me a bear hug." He pulled me closer to him. Connor and I had been really close. Well, he's my closest from the band.

We came from the same school in our fourth year of high school. That was when I stayed in my uncle's house for almost a year, since my parents almost separated.

"I missed you, Connie." I told him.

"Me too." He said back. "Let's sit there." He pointed on my dining table.

"How come you were with Bradley yesterday and you didn't even bothered to tell me?" He suspected.

"Oh that? That was just a thirty-minute walk, and conversation if you don't mind. And he treated me a coffee. It's just a plain catching-up." I explained.

"You didn't even texted me." He continues, sounding jealous.

"Silly, I just visited New York yesterday. I've been traveling and I was pretty tired yesterday." I told Connor.

"Haha, okay." He lighten up the mood. "So, I heard you're releasing your album sooner or later."

"Well, yeah. We started recording yesterday and I was pretty excited about it. But I was nervous at the same time, I don't even know if someone's going to buy the album." I hesitated.

"You have thousands of fans out there. I'm sure they're craving for an album." Connor assured me.

"I hope so." I chuckled nervously. "How about you? How was the tour? I heard you sang the second verse in Wake Up eh? And also in Written Off, you've got parts."
