31. Best Girlfriend

"Hello everyone." Joe stood straight as he gave all of us compiled papers inside a folder. Even Annie is here. "As we all know, Brad and Kate are together since we don't know when. And, the big boss asked your presence, together, with the band, of course, to confirm your relationship status since the media is going crazy-crazy about it. And we're gonna do it by visiting Ellen tomorrow. Boys, you're gonna be the only guest tomorrow, since they had to know about the book, and the album and everything. And Kate will be a special guest after the whole interview."

We nodded in unison.

"So, you'd better be here by 8 am. You also got to prepare a performance. Boys, you're on with Wake Up. And Kate, 'Hey Now' it is." Joe continued.

"Kate, you'll open for The Vamps on next world tour for the whole American season." Annie told me.

"Aye." I said.

"But before that, you'll have a few covers with them first. And since we got their album already done, we will just feature you in a single video or something like that." Joe added. "You're also gonna collaborate with New Hope Club this year. You're already informed, right?"

"Yeah. We met already and we talked about it. We just need a few more studio meetings." I answered Joe.

"Wait, that's new." I heard Brad said. My head turned to him. Uh-oh. "I thought they'll chose someone else beside Kate."

"Well, I guess Kate is still their top priority." Joe winked at me.

The rest of the meeting goes on. I felt Brad's uneasiness. I don't even know why. He can't be jealous or somewhat.

"Hey." Connor tapped Brad's shoulder as we're just chilling on the meeting room. "You alright?"

Brad frowned and nodded at the same time. Connor looked at me and gave me a what's-the-problem look. I shrugged my shoulders.

"Charlie's crushing on Liza." James said quietly. Here we go, with Liza Soberano again. I admit, she's really pretty.

"You serious?" Tristan asked.

"Yeah." James answered. He stayed silent for seconds. During the whole time, I can tell that James is somehow troubled. I went over him as Tristan and Connor went out to buy us frappes. Annie and Joe talked with the boss. Brad excused himself to the comfort room.

"Hey." I called out to James who's focusing on his phone.

"Hmm?" He hummed without looking at me.

"Are you okay?" I asked sincerely.

He took a deep breath. He shut his phone down and put it on the table. "It's crazy. Almost every man is into her. How can I ever get her attention?"

I stood up and went beside him, and I hugged him. "It's alright, James. Just be who you are. She'll love you for that."

I rubbed his back. He gave me back a warm smile. We heard someone cleared a throat, from the back. We both turned our heads, it's Brad. I pulled away from the hug. Don't wanna cause another argument.

Brad walked and sat in the swivel chair and looked out at the building next to ours. I noticed Brad's being so quiet. It's not normal for me to see him acting this way. I bet James noticed it too.

"I uh... I'll leave you guys alone for a while." James said and stood up. He left right away.

Now it's me and Brad alone.

I walked to Brad's back and put my left hand in his right shoulder. "You're too quiet."

"Hmm." He hummed.
