Stevens Training

Steven watched Zircon as she swung her scythe around on the ocean top. "She's to far for me to get her." Garnet stood next to him and called out to Zircon. "Zircon!" "Yes?" She stopped and looked at the two from afar.  "Steven wants to ask you something." "You can throw right?" Garnet smiled and picked Steven up. "Don't move when I throw you." "Right." She picked him up and threw him as hard as she could making the water splash up when he flew by. "Woah!!" Zircon caught him and waved to Garnet. "Thanks!" "Anytime!" Garnet said walking back inside. "Anything wrong Steven?" "No I just wanted to know if you could help me fight!"
    Zircon chuckled and held him up. "Steven..I can't teach you how to fight, you have your own fighting techniques with that little shield of yours." He giggled as she poked his stomach. "Aw come on thats it? all because of my gem?" "If I were to teach you some things it wouldn't be affective to you." "Then you can just fight me and I'll improve!" "Steven, pearl would kill me." "Zircon pleasseee." She looked at him and sighed. "I guess I could teach you the defensive." She held him up high in the air removing her helmet. "Steven, I'd love to help you train!" "Can Garnet be apart of it too?" "Did Garnet want you to ask for her?" Steven looked down at her and nervously smiled. "OK, fine." She put him down and started walking twords the beach.
    "So is my training special?" "Kind of, only cause I never had to show the defensive side." She set Steven down on the sand and waited for Garnet to show up. "Did I take long?" "Just on time!" Zircon stood up and put her fist up. "I want you two to fight me together, do your best!" Steven quickly summoned his sheild when Zircon punched at him. "I'm gonna teach you how to summon that without feeling threatened." Garnet summoned her gauntlets punching at Zircon making their fist collide with each other. "You have to be quicker." Zircon started blocking her punches with her hand as she got faster and faster. "I'll help you Garnet!" Zircon grabbed his shield and tossed it up, she kicked Garnets feet making her fall over and crash into the ground. "How did you..?" "Be aware of everything even if it seems to easy." She said with smile grabbing onto the falling sheild.

    "Now tell me before we really get started, are you two serious about training to get better?" "Of course we are Zircon, you're just stronger than us." She handed Steven his shield and looked at the two. "Sorry, I'll kick it down a notch." Steven watched as the excitement from her face left. "That's why we're getting stronger! So we can all fight evenly!" She rubbed his head with a small smile. "Its alright Steven." She put her fist up again waiting for them to attack. "Garnet I think i-" she ran up to Zircon and punched her up in the air. "You got her!" She crashed into the ground slowly getting up and looked at the two. "Good, keep it up." "Zircon? Letting me hit her?" Garnet smiled and went after her again. "Garnet she isn't really fighting back you know." Zircon moved out of the way avoiding her hits. "Garnet I think you should really wait..!" Zircon grabbed her fist and headbutted her making her fly back into the ground. "See Garnet, I told you to wait."

   "Good observation Steven." She got up and summoned her gauntlets again and looked at Steven. "This time I'll listen." Steven excitedly summoned his sheild and got ready. "Come on you two." "Steven!" Steven looked back and saw his dad standing there in shock and worry as he looked at Zircon. "Hey dad!" "Don't worry Steven!" He ran up to Zircon with a broom and started smacking her in the head and face. "Dad! Stop she's not mean!" "Stay behind me Steven!" Zircon snatched the broom out of his hand and crushed it into pieces. "Dad she isn't like the others. She's nice." "Who is this Steven?" Zircon said wiping her hands off. "Its my dad, the greatest dad ever! Greg Universe!!" Zircon put her hands on her hips and looked at him with a smile. "Greg Universe? You're the one that managed to take Rose from Pearl!" "I-i wouldn't say it like that.." "No no its fine I get it." She poked his gut and examined him.

    "You look really different now." He nervously laughed and scratched his head. "It has been a couple years." "Greg?" "Oh, hey Pearl!" "What are you doing here?" She said walking down the beach. "I was here to check on Steven and kind of...attacked Zircon..?" "How do you accidentally do that?" "You guys." They all looked at Steven when he crossed his arms. "You ruined our training." "Oh! Sorry shtoo-ball..mind if we watch?" "That would be lovely! How bout we all fight one on one!" They all looked at her then back at each other. "Good idea. Steven you start." He smiled in determination and nodded his head. "Right, I can do this!" He put his shield up and gave Zircon a smile. "Are you ready Steven?" She punched down on his sheild getting reflected back. "Hah! Sheild block!" He grabbed her leg and pulled on it making her fall down. "What-!?" She hit her head on the ground and looked at Steven in shock.

     "You have grown huh?" She got up and caught him in the air as he tried to jump away. "Can't escape me Steven." She dragged him down and flicked his head making him grab onto it in pain. "Ow! A flick?" She chuckled and rubbed his head. "I can't punch you or anything yet Steven." He walked back still rubbing his head and let Amethyst past him. "This is gonna be fun!" She pulled her whip out and grabbed onto Zircons arm. "Wrong move Amethyst." Zircon pulled her making her fly into her strong kick and flew back into the others. "Welp! I give up." Stevn laid next to her and laughed. "That's it? Just like that?" "Yep. There's no way I can beat her like that." Zircon pointed at Garnet and summoned her helmet on her head. "Your turn."
