I rubbed my eyes as I stumbled down the stairs.

"Have a good nap?" Aisling asked as she looked up from the TV. I smiled and nodded. "My head doesn't hurt as bad and I feel like I have more energy. Where are we?" I asked.

"We decided to check into a hotel, you needed rest and so did we. We'll start back tomorrow." Almonzo answered from the kitchen.

I nodded. "Well where are the guys?" I asked. I didn't want to admit it but my dream had jarred me and I felt like I needed to be near to Kingston.

Gosh, when did I become so needy? I wondered.

"When you realized you like him." Aisling shrugged.

I snapped my neck in her direction. "What?" I asked.

She smiled and patted the seat next to her. I slowly walked to the couch and sat down. Aisling turned up the volume so Almonzo wouldn't hear then shifted so she was facing me.

"I can sense feeling and emotions. I can also sometimes read thoughts if the person doesn't guard their mind closely. Besides, just from my woman instincts I could tell you liked him before you even knew."

I gaped at her. "You won't tell right? I mean... I don't think he likes me..." I looked down and traced patterns in the soft couch cushion. Boy, I felt cruddy.

Aisling smirked. "Carmen sweetie, I've been around for 2000 years. There have been plenty of men and boyfriends. I've been around the block a few times. Trust me, boys are a little slow to realize feelings but I think Kingston has feelings for you. Blitz too."

"Well I have a feeling blitz likes everyone." I smiled. Aisling looked down. "Yea..." she whispered.

"We're baaack tennis is fun!" Blitz yelled as he barged through the door. Blitz, king, and Zeke all stumbled through the doors, panting and sweating profusely.

King with his too tall legs took three strides towards me a scooped me up. "Eww! Gross!" I shrieked. "Your so sweaty, gross!" He laughed. "You didnt miss me!? I thought we were friends!" He joked.

Friends. Right. Friends. Just friends. I thought.

I put on a smile. "We aren't friends when you stink like animal crap!"  I giggled as he swung me around.

"True friendship withstands everything. Even animal crap." He put me down.

Yea. Friendship.

Aisling winked at me and started squealing when blitz did the same thing king did.

I laughed as I watched them.

"S-stop! Stop-p i-it!" She shrieked. When blitz didn't stop tickling her, the magic knifes slipped into her fist.

"Hey! Watch it lady!" He gently put her down and she put the knife away. She sauntered out of the room and he stared out after her. "Dang"

I smirked a jogged after her but not before I heard the guys mutter "women"

"So where to next?" Zeke asked.

"The deturium." Kingston answered. "We need that book. Then we can make you immortal. And, you know, I won't die."

"Me!? Immortal?" I asked, shocked.

He nodded. "If you want."

"Its not that simple" Aisling warned. "You watch your friends and family grow old, hurt and die. You have to fake multiple deaths... you can't stay in one place too long." She quickly looked away. "And love doesn't last"

The room was quiet.

"It comes with a price." She whispered, her voice breaking.

"I'll do it." I said at the same time Zeke said "no way"

We looked at each other. "Carmen. Think it through." He edged.

"Yea." I whispered.

Kingston nodded. "Things are bound to get worse. I know who to go to." He said.

And with that, we started back on our journey
