Meredy's POV

"Mavis, Lyon! What will we do? We can't find her!" I exclaimed. We can't find Juvia anywhere. She's not in their house, too. I decided to sneak inside her home, tiptoeing around. It took a lot in me to not barge into Gray's room where I can hear him banging a rather loud whore, because I know I would've snapped their necks off. They should be thankful that my worry for Juvia is more powerful than my disgust and decided against burning the house down, with those two rabbits in it.

"Just keep looking. She must have not gone far. We will find her sooner or later," Lyon said as we slowly drove around the blocks, our eyes scanning everywhere.

Yeah, Lyon was already back home. He was actually already home by the time I marched into Juvia's house the other night and found her lying on the kitchen floor. I was supposed to surprise her with Lyon already in our favorite cafe. The plan was to bring her there but I ended up bringing her to the hospital anyway.

I told Lyon about what happened and it's actually a good thing that he got an urgent call from one of his subordinates and he needed to work remotely—despite him being on a vacation leave from his company—because otherwise, I'm sure that he would've invited himself into Gray's office and beat the hell out of him in front of everyone.

Lyon instructed me to come up with another surprise, so I told Juvia that his return has been postponed. Yet here we are again, getting another surprise from Juvia because she's missing! I couldn't reach her phone and she has not been responding to my texts. I sighed in frustration. This is all Gray's fault! Damn that bastard!

"Oh Mavis, thank goodness! There she is!" Lyon said, pointing to the head of blue hair who was sitting on the bench at a park four blocks down from where she lived. She was looking downcast, and she had a big duffle bag beside her.

Lyon parked the car and we both got out and burst into a sprint towards her.

"Juvia!" We called her and she looked up.

"Mavis! Juvia, you made us worry!" I exclaimed and held her by her shoulders, "Why didn't you text me that you're here? We were looking for you down two blocks!"

"Juvia wiped out her phone's memory and had restored it into its factory settings. After all, that phone is under Gray-sa—Gray's line, and I didn't want anything to do with it anymore so I left it. I'm sorry that I forgot to text you. I was so in a hurry to pack all my clothes and necessities as noiselessly as possible that this slipped out of my mind. Juvia was also not able to write down your number so she could at least drop by a payphone. I just settled to sit here and wait." Juvia explained, as her eyes drifted to Lyon, "And Lyon...you're here...I thought..."

Lyon gave her a tender smile and said, "Uhm, surprise?"

Juvia returned a smile and it faltered immediately as she turned her eyes back to me.

"Meredy..." her voice cracked.

I saw her eyes brimming with tears, and the look on her face absolutely broke me. She was in agony. I quickly wrapped my arms around her and hugged her tight. I then felt my shoulder become immediately soaked with her tears as she let out a long sob.

"Juvia..." Lyon muttered as he stood there helplessly and watched Juvia cry her heart out.

Juvia's trembling hands clawed at my back, grabbing fistfuls of my shirt, as if she was clutching it to keep her life from falling further apart.

"It hurts... It hurts so much..." Juvia whimpered in between sobs, "He already loves somebody else..."

As if a thorned yoke has been lifted off her shoulders, she let out a wail, albeit muffled in my chest, as grief took over her trembling body, wave after wave. I tightened my hold around her to try and absorb some of her shaking and placate her.
