It's really short, but I thought it was best to break the chapter here and continue it in the next part.

Enjoy!

--- Owen's Pov ---

When no one moved to open the door, I decided it was my responsibility to do so. However, I was surprised to see Doctor Roberts standing in the doorway.

"Hello, Owen. It's nice to meet again, though I'm not sure if this could be considered to be better circumstances than last time." When I didn't answer or give any acknowledgement to his statement, he took it as an answer to come in. Surprisingly enough, he navigated through the home as if it was his own until we were standing in the living room, which everyone had cleared out of by now. He took off his jacket before sitting down on one side of the coffee table while I, naturally, sat on the other side.

"I'm sure you realize why I'm here. Since you had gone missing yet again, the Academy felt the team needed to have a manager to watch over them for the time being, which was appointed as my job. The boys wanted to drop all missions to come save you and the other two boys I allowed to be taken . However, I was most curious to see your Victor Morgan driving a random car to Mr. Lee's home."

"That was our mistake. The unforeseeable event occurred only hours ago, resulting in the unfortunate outcome we're preparing to deal with now," Sean answered smoothly, suddenly appearing in the seat next to me, one arm around my shoulder while his other hand rested on my knee possessively.

Dr. Robert's took this moment to look directly at the blood-stained corner of the room. Aiden, Asher, and I tried our best to scrub it clean, but there was still a faint discoloration to the floor. He turned back to us with a raised eyebrow and spoke, "Yes, I can see that. Now, I came here before the boys could to confirm my suspicions I've come to have since I last saw Owen . I'm sure Owen told you that I've known you are Akuma for a while now, yes?"

Sean gave a small nod, but he still seemed skeptical of the situation. "I will keep the fact that I knew before the boys a secret. However, I overheard the boys wanting to report you and your location to the Academy. I convinced them to wait until they retrieved you and Gabriel before following through with this course of action. I'm sure once they get here you'll be able to convince them to follow a different path when it comes to the growing feud between your two groups."

Sean cleared his throat before leaning forward to speak again, "I hope we can, as Owen cares for these boys greatly, and I know he'll be saddened if we can't all eventually get along."

Dr. Roberts nodded thoughtfully for a minute before clapping his hands softly, getting off the couch, "Well, I think it's about time I leave before the boys find me here in your living room. Sean, will you walk me out?"

Sean placed a soft, reassuring kiss on my head before standing as well, following Dr. Roberts out to the door.

I sat there in the silence as I took in all of what Dr. Roberts said.

'Can we truly convince these boys to leave us alone? Do I even want them to leave me alone? Why can't everyone just understand that I deserve to be happy too, no matter what or who it is that makes me happy.'

I looked around the room, lost in thought, before I spotted Dr. Roberts' coat on the couch. Hoping that he hadn't left just yet, I walked into the hall leading to the front door, only to overhear what must be the end of their conversation.

"I know what you're hiding, Sean," Dr. Roberts said with a smirk. He had a gentle look in his eyes, "No matter what, you're still like the son I never had. But I will follow your direction when it comes to the Academy."

"Are you willing to trying to see it the way I do?"

"I am willing and I will obey, Sean," Dr. Roberts answered, his eyes full of determination.

Sean gave an affirmative nod and Dr. Roberts reached for the door. Forgetting the fact that I was eavesdropping, I ran out yelling, "Wait!"

Both turned to me in surprise and I stopped to catch my breath, as all the air rushed out of me from embarrassment. "You forgot your coat, Dr. Roberts."

"Ah, yes! Thank you, Owen," Dr. Roberts beamed as he took it from my hand, slid it on and left the house without another word.

Instead of walking over to me, Sean turned and began to walk past me. Curious as to what that whole conversation was about, I grabbed his wrist, stopping him in his tracks.

"What was that?" I asked softly, as I didn't want to mistakenly anger him for getting in his business before he was ready.

We were silent for a moment before he asked, "Do you trust me?"

"Of course I do."

"Then all will be clear when the time is right, Kijo. Now, why don't you go speak with your friend Gabriel. I'm sure he's quite confused about today's events and where we're going from here."

I hesitated, but nodded anyway, letting go of his arm and doing what he suggested.
