A/N : One of my favorites :) It gives Owen a bit of a backbone while still being the character I've made him :)

--- Owen's Pov ---

I heard a door slam down the hall, which woke me from my sleep.

Groaning, I turned over and realized that Sean was still awake with a dim light turned on so he could read without disturbing me.

"You heard it, too?" He asked without looking up from his novel.

"Yeah," I whispered.

"I thought I could trust those boys with her, but I don't think they have a damn clue what they're doing," he grumbled before he turned to look at me. "Be truthful. Can I trust those boys in my home? Can I trust them with my niece?"

"I knew they'd cause a little trouble when they came to save Mr. Coleman, but I wasn't expecting all this. With as long as I've known them and have been their team lead, I've never seen them be so protective as they've been with Ms. Sorenson."

"But they obviously just made her upset," Sean argued.

"I think Ms. Sorenson was overloaded with too much information today. First, she discovers she has a family member she never knew about, then she discovers things about her birth mother, then that she isn't human, and finally we finished it by telling her that she's going to end up with more than one man, with a high possibility that those men are a part of my team. Any young woman would be quickly agitated after learning so much information in one sitting," I stated.

"You don't think the boys could be at fault?" He asked.

"I hope that if I taught those boys anything, it was to follow directions. Ms. Sorenson knows more information than the boys at the moment, so I think she's reacting to it while the boys don't know what's going on. They're doing their best with the information they have and they're trying to follow her lead on how they should do things, I think."

"I suppose you're right, Kijo," Sean said, giving me a small grin. However, his smile slowly dropped into a frown.

"You're a good influence on those boys, but I don't think they're a good one on you," he sighed.

"What?"

"You've been very vocal ever since those boys took you from me. I let it go because we were in front of your boys, but we're alone now." He said, putting his book down now and focusing his full attention on me.

"You know I had to show them I was still me, 'Owen Blackbourne: Team Liaison of the Blackbourne Team'."

"I know, I know," He said accompanied by a nod, "But I just want to make sure we remember a few things..."

He turned and pulled the blankets off of us before he swung his legs on either side of mine, straddling me.

He moved one of his hands to cup my cheek as he leaned down, pressing his lips to mine hungrily, making me gasp. It almost felt like it was our first kiss again, as my heart was beating nervously as I pressed my lips to his. The difference was that our first kiss burned with electricity, like we were charged up and wouldn't spark without the other. This kiss, while still having its domineering quality, was sweeter and held a bit more teasing.

He started to pull away after a few seconds, but I pushed forward, wanting more from him. But, after a few last nips at my lips, I let him pull away.

"Whose lips are these?" He asked as he moved his hand to grip my chin softly, his thumb tracing my bottom lip.

"Yours," I answered quietly.
