--- Sean's Pov ---

Living as long as I had made time irrelevant- it could have been a few hours or even a few days after Dr. Roberts came to my door that I heard two vehicles pull up to my home. Most of Aiden's family had either gone home to rest for a while or had gone out to feed, as they've been working themselves day and night for the last week ever since I got Owen back to make sure the other humans were healthy.

An unexpected event, however, was how attached Nikolai had become to that Gabriel child. Ever since he and the other boy were brought home, Nikolai had not left the boy alone, be it spending time with him, watching him interact with others from the shadows, or simply being in the same room with him. What I did determine was that this was no common relationship.

'Could this be what Cody has predicted?'

The pounding knock on my door didn't come as a shock, but when I heard that the door was being forced open for the second time this week, I wouldn't describe myself as a happy creature.

'Owen thought I was going to treat these boys nicely to show them how happy we were. That was the plan, up until Dr. Roberts came to talk. From what he said to Owen and me, these boys would never let Owen go, not for a second. They need to be threatened or they'll never leave us alone until Owen is safe, alone, and unhappy again. I can't let that happen.'

I raced out of my office, anger coating my features as I flew into the closest person's face, who I recall Owen calling 'North'. Ha. Who would name their child after a direction on a compass?

"Weren't you taught to wait for someone to open the door when you knock? Jeez, I thought your Academy would teach you boys manners," I sneered.

"It's a little rude to steal people from hospitals, so I thought we would skip the formalities. My mistake," North growled.

"Elijah's right, you're like a little wolf pup; you're always growling and yipping, but it seems like you just don't know how to take a chunk out of your opponent quite like one."

"I'll show you a bite-" North snarled, jumping towards me. I flashed a foot back just in time to get away from him. This also allowed his friend Silas to grab him, holding him back.

"North, breathe. You freaking out is not going to get us anywhere," Kota stated, a calculating look in his eye as he studied me.

"He's right. Down, puppy, down," I scolded with a chuckle. This, of course, only enraged North more and made him fight again Silas's hold.

"Sean, don't play with them," a soft voice said, the melody of each syllable ringing down my spine with familiarity and filled me with a calmness that put me at ease.

"Owen, your boys destroyed my door," I whined, pointing out the chipped pieces coating the floor from their rough behavior.

"Well, we can't do much about it right at this moment, can we?" He said, a soft hand reaching to rest on my back, instilling a sense of unity between us- at least in front of his team- as well as giving me bragging rights that he subconsciously chose me over them.

I could sense a few of Aiden's boys entering the room as planned. I didn't smell Gabriel's scent in here, but rather a few rooms away, so I assumed that he was standing back until the time was right with Nikolai.

"I guess not," I pouted but suddenly perked up with a clap of my hands, "Well, I guess we'll just have to move on with our regularly scheduled program then. Aiden? Asher?"

With little command, the boys stepped forward and the red-headed one was suddenly grabbed, struggling in their grasps.

"Let me go!" he grunted.
