--- Sang's Pov ---
I turned back and leaned on the door, breathing heavily as I reflected on the last half-an-hour of my life.
'Did I just point a gun at someone? Especially in some possible killer's home? Then did I really blame North for not wanting me inside this house, then injure him just because he touched my shoulder the wrong way? What's wrong with me today?'
I was suddenly taken by surprise when i was engulfed in a hug. I stiffened, hoping whoever it was would let go of me. However, I quickly realized that it was Gabriel and I leaned into the hug, relishing in the fact that Gabriel was okay.
"Sang! It's nice to see you're still alive and kicking. Or should I say you're alive and kneeing people in the stomach?" He chuckled.
I laughed as well, as the sound of his laugh was infectious.
"You're okay too, right?" I asked softly as I pulled back from the hug, placing my hands on either side of his face.
"I'm perfectly fine, actually. I'm safe and I haven't been too unhappy here. Nikolai has taken good care of me," he answered back just as softly.
"Nikolai?" I asked.
"He's Cody's brother. Cody's the man you were pointing a gun at because you thought he was threatening North. However, North attacked Cody's boyfriend, which led to Cody attacking him, and once North even thought of touching his brother, Nikolai was ready to get involved. That is, until you come in, guns a-blazing. It's just that Nikolai gets protective over those he cares about. That makes sense, right?"
"I...I think so."
"Then I think it's best that you remove your hands from Gabriel and step back a few steps before Nikolai finds you both standing here," the woman from before said. We both turned to find her leaning against the wall leading down the hallway.
'How did she get past us when we're standing in front of the door?'
"Olivia, if he has a problem with me talking with Sang, he can speak to me about it later," Gabriel huffed.
"But...But I don't want to cause trouble with anyone here," I said, dropping my hands and backing away a safe distance from Gabriel. "I just want to talk with the man who called me "Melody' and ask him a few questions."
"Oh, isn't she so cute!" A boy squealed as he suddenly appeared in front of me, making me shrink back in surprise. "Hi, I'm Cody. It's nice to finally meet you! I know we're going to be just the best of friends!"
In a blink of an eye, he was hugging Olivia's arm as he bounced up and down whispering loudly to her like a kid, "See! I told you the girl was real! You didn't believe me and here she is!"
'There was doubt that I was real? How does he even know me?'
"Cody, sweetie, I believed you, but I just didn't want to get your hopes up today," She said, attempting to pry his hands off of her.
He appeared in front of me again, but this time he was only an inch from my face. I watched as his eyes roamed my face before he stepped back.
"But one thing I don't understand is that she's human," he stated, lifting a finger to his chin in puzzlement.
'Is being human a problem, or something? He says it like he's not one himself...'
"Cody, stop pestering the girl and Mr. Coleman, bring her inside the house instead of hanging out by the front door," a stern voice barked as a man stepped into the hall with us.
