Introducing the Criminals

"Jesse?"
I turned around to see Petra staring at me. God this felt embarrassing. She had the look in her eye as if to say "Who even are you right now?". Slowly, I removed my sword away from his throat, yet still keeping a close eye on him. He followed my every move before clearing his throat. "Phew"
"Jesse what were you doing? Are.. you alright?" She questioned hastily.
Still, with my anger not at its peak but a high level, I grunted "Him. He knows Aiden" As I spoke, I grabbed the jacket off him quickly.
"Hey! Give that back". He tried to lunge for it before I stepped away.
Petra stood closer toward him "Who are you?" She asked.
He groaned "The names Milo. I was hoping to keep a low profile but your friend disturbed that". I glowered "That's only because you were being so god damn condesending toward me when you don't even know me."
Something in him changed. He knew I was right as he sighed a little "Alright. I judged too hastily but who doesn't? I mean you're clearly an outsider ... aren't you?"
Just as he said that, Ivor appeared with Lukas tracing after him.
"Who's this? Has he told you anything?" Ivor questioned. Putting my sword away, I shook my head "No."
"So you haven't found anything out?!"
"I know something. I know he has Aiden's jacket here" I tossed it over to Lukas. Lukas took one look at it and glared at Milo "You do know where they are don't you?"
"I-" Milo went to speak but Petra interrupted "Are you hiding them or something?". Milo was clearly offended and uncomfortable by this point "I do NOT like this line of questioning!!"
He clearly wasn't gonna tell us anything.
Maybe I just had to try a better tactic.
I softened my tone "Look Milo. We got off to a bad start but you can trust us. Nothing bad is gonna happen to you if you just help us."
His eyebrows raised in surprise at me before rolling his eyes "Fine! If it will make you leave me alone, that Aiden fellow did speak to me earlier. He was asking about the Eversource and-"
Wait what?!
"What?" Ivor asked before I could think straight "What's this Eversource you're talking about?"
"Yeah, it sounds pretty important" Lukas raised his eyebrow suspiciously.
"According to this girl I was speaking to, its the Founders pet" I informed them.
"Oh. Wait a pet?" Lukas was completely and utterly baffled.
I nodded a bit before turning back toward Milo.
"How does Aiden know about the Eversource?" I inquired, puzzled. He arrived here literally 2 minutes before us. Unless..
"Maybe he got here before us and asked someone about the treasure here. Like they landed in Sky City whilst we got stuck on that dumb hill of grass blocks!" Petra complained. I didn't blame her at this point. I wanted to complain too but that wasn't going to help us.
"Look, I just told him what everybody knows. The Eversource is in the palace with the Founder. That's all I can tell you I swear." Milo finished. He looked believeable as did his story but one thing didn't for me. Why would that pink haired girl tell me to ask Milo, if everyone in the city knew anyway?
But I could ask him that later as now we had the information we needed. "Okay.. so where is Aiden now? The Palace?" I asked and Milo nodded "Yes, I would've thought so considerably"
Suddenly, a loud booming voice like the guards filled up my eardrums "Attention! Attention! Just a moment of your time please! Emergency meeting, attention attention! Attendance is mandatory!"
"Oh slime blocks!" Milo groaned before walking off.
Confused, we all walked back - following Milo - to the Main Area in front of the palace (but to the side so our outlandish looks weren't THAT noticeable) among the large crowd of people. At the front, up the stairs, the guards were stood in a square like shape. Then, in the middle a woman in a golden dress appeared, her hair as black as coal like mine.
"Oh! It's the founder!" Someone gasped in front of me. The Founder looked to the side of her and- oh no. No. No. No.
Next to her, appeared Aiden by her side, with Gil and Maya behind. For gods sake.
"What the hell is he doing up there?!" Petra murmered angrily behind me. From up here, you would've thought the chills would've been from the air but with Petra stood so close, it was hard not to get chills. Ugh, concentrate Jesse.
"I think we're about to find out" Lukas watched worriedly as the Founder began to speak "People of Sky City! I'm sorry to pull you from your duties but something urgent has came to my attention. A crime has been comitted"
People in crowd gasped outraged, mumbling all different things. The Founder continued "Please remain calm. Earlier, some outsiders have built a bridge into our city from a distant island. Now wether these outsiders know it or not, building like this is a clear violation of our rules here - no unauthorised building"
Milo turned toward us "Wait was that you? Are you people the bridge builders?"
I rolled my eyes "I didn't know it was illegal! It's just a bridge!" Petra turned toward me "This is nuts!". We nodded our heads agreeing.
As I turned back toward the Founder, Aiden pulled away from her as if he whispered something. Her face turned angry.

"Jesse, wherever you are - step forward now. I have already been informed of your identity. I appreciate you may be ignorant of our laws but I promise you that Sky City is small. So if you try to hide, I will find you."
