Since there are going to be time skips, I'll say what month it is on every chapter.
Chapter 2
*September*
So far, a month has passed and Tony and I weren't getting closer in any way. He was really sweet the first day, but I couldn't handle being hurt again, so I had to push him away. Now,we argued all the time.
So if there was any chance of him liking me before, there wasn't a chance now.
I still haven't had any contact with my family yet, thankfully. After Ian showed up at the apartment that one day, I was worried one of my family members would show up and try talking to me as well. Nobody did.
After work today, I had to go to a doctor's appointment for a check up on my shoulder. I fractured it a while back, and surprisingly Ian didn't even visit me in the hospital, and even though I wasn't feeling anymore pain, I still had to get a check up.
However, I had to stay at the school a bit longer than I thought to help put a student and by the time I had to leave for my appointment, most of the teachers were gone.
I went outside to my car and got in. I tried starting it up over and over again, but it wouldn't work. I sighed and got out of my car. I've been meaning to get a new battery, but I kept forgetting.
"Need some help?" a voice said.
I turned and saw Tony, sighing. He just had to show up. "By anyone but you, yes," I said.
"Okay," he said. But just so you know, I am one of the last teachers to leave, so...."
I sighed. "My car's not starting up and I have a doctor's appointment."
"Oh," Tony said. "I have some cables at home, so I can quickly go there and come back to give it a jumpstart."
"Thanks for the offer, but, like I said, I have a doctor's appointment," I said. "So that won't really work, idiot."
"I try being nice and I get this," Tony said. "Okay, how about I drive you there, then after go to my apartment to get the cables and bring you back here to jumpstart it?"
"Is there anyone else that can do it?" I asked. "I'd rather not have you do it."
"Like I said, I'm one of the last teachers to leave," Tony said. "You better take my offer quick if you really have to get to your doctor's appointment."
"Fine, whatever," I muttered.
"A thank you would be nice," he said.
"Don't push it," I said.
Tony sighed once again before leading me to his car. I got in the passenger seat and told him where my doctor's office was. And it turned out he had the exact same doctor as me.
When we got there, Tony said he would wait inside with me so he didn't have to sit in the car.
I was hating having him so close to me. I hated him a lot.
Okay, I didn't really hate him, but I didn't want to like him. So I was going to continue getting him to hate me until one of us no longer worked at the school and never had to see each other again.
A girl and a boy walked out of the doctor's office. "Poppy?" Tony said, looking at the girl. It was his sister, and the boy with her must have been her boyfriend. "What are you doing here?"
