Chapter 6
*December*
Holiday number two that I had to spend alone, and this one was a big one that most people didn't want to spend alone. Christmas. I was actually tempted to forgive my family because I didn't want to spend today alone, but then I remembered exactly what they did and I knew that I couldn't forgive them. They were all telling me to get over it, but I wasn't going to.
They probably even expected me to forgive them today and were anticipating a call or me showing up at the house. I couldn't. I wasn't going to.
I made myself some hot chocolate and sat in front of the TV, going to a channel where a marathon of Christmas movies were being played. This was going to be how I was spending my Christmas.
My cell phone rang and I didn't recognize the number, so I ignored it. However, whoever it was called two more times so on the third time, I answered it. "Hello?"
"Charlie, hey," my younger sister Matilda said. "When are you coming over?"
"I'm not," I said. "And when did you get a phone?"
"Last week," she said. "Why aren't you coming over? It's Christmas. We're all waiting."
"I know it's Christmas, but I'm not going to spend it with the people who stabbed me in the back," I said.
"Are you still holding onto that?" she asked. "Lydia and Ian are dating, and quite in love, so get over it."
"You two?" I asked. "You're telling me to get over it too? Great. Now my whole family turned on me when I'm the victim here. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to spend Christmas alone. Oh, and thanks for calling, because now I have another number to block." As soon as I hung up up, I did exactly that. I blocked her number.
I dropped my phone on the coffee table, sighing as I leaned back into the couch. This was exactly why I wasn't going to forgive my family. I did nothing wrong, yet my whole family was telling me to get over it and acted like I was the bad one in this situation.
There was a sudden knock on my door, so I got up from my couch to answer it. "Great," I said when I saw Tony standing there, looking as hot as ever. "Wha do you want?"
"Well, I spent Christmas Eve with my family," he said. "And since your parents are still overseas I, I don't know....I thought you'd want to spend Christmas with someone. I know you don't like me and the feeling's mutual, but if you want to spend it with someone, I'll be willing to stay over for a bit."
Did I really want the guy I like to spend Christmas with me, especially when I was trying hard not to like him?
But I didn't want to spend Christmas alone, so.... "Uh, yeah, I guess you can stay," I said. "Under one condition."
"You know, I'm trying to do something nice," he said. "I didn't know that would need a condition."
"Yeah, whatever," I said. "You have to make dinner. I can't cook at all, excpet for mac and cheese and soup."
I was trying to see if he could cook because if he couldn't, that would give me a reason to hate him.
It didn't work. Apparently, he knew how to cook.
"Deal," he said.
Great. I still couldn't find a reason to hate him. He might just be the perfect person for me after all.
No, I didn't want someone else. I didn't need someone else.
I let Tony into my apartment, taking a deep breath to try to calm myself. But doing so only got me to get a whiff of his cologne. He smelled really good.
And there I was, swooning over him once again. I hated that I couldn't find a reason to hate him.
"Want some hot chocolate?" I asked. "That's all I've been doing. Drinking hot chocolate and watching movies."
"Sure," he said.
After I made him some hot chocolate, I sat down beside him on the couch and handed him the mug.
"You didn't poison it, did you?" he asked in a teasing tone.
"I don't know, you're going to have to test it to find out," I said.
Tony looked down in the mug. "Uh, now I'm kind of scared that you did."
"Relax, loser, I wouldn't actually posion you," I said. "You need to learn how to take a joke."
Tony gave me a fake laugh before taking a sip out of the hot chocolate. Maybe I should have poisoned it. Then I wouldn't have to worry about liking him.
We didn't really talk as we watched the movies and drank hot chocolate. Around five o'clock, Tony got up and went to the kitchen to make dinner. He looked through my cupboards before looking at me. "You don't really have any food," he said. "It's all cans and boxes."
I shrugged. "I told you, I can't cook."
"I'll just bring something over from my apartment," he said. "I'll be back."
"You don't actually have to make something," I said. "I know a pizza shop that's opened today. We can just order in from there."
"You know, I like how you think at times," he said. "What kind do you want? I'll pay."
"You don't have to pay," I said. "We can split the price."
"Seriously, I insist on paying," he said. "You're forced to spend Christmas with me, so something good might as well come out of it. So, what kind of pizza?"
"Anything," I said. "But no pineapples."
"Finally, something we agree on," he said as he pulled his cell phone out of his pocket. Trust me, Tony, we agreed on a lot more. I just couldn't show it.

Tarlie. Is. So. Cute. Just wait until they get together. Or until they do the, uh....frickle frackles. cx
Okay, my younger sister is being really annoying. I say one thing to her and I get in trouble, but she's always scoffing or laughing and being very annoying when I do or say something that has nothing to do with her, but she doesn't get in trouble. I wish I could just ignore her, but then I get in trouble for doing so. -.-
