Chapter 16

I stared at the small piece of paper in my hand, reading it over and over again. Why couldn't I put it down?

I was startled when Tony suddenly wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his chin on my head. "What you go there?" he asked.

I sighed. "My sister's wedding invitation. It's today."

"Oh," Tony said. "You told me you aren't planning on going, right?"

"Yeah, but....I think I have to," I said. "I hate the way she's been acting and I hate how my family is acted but....she's my sister, Tony. I can't miss her wedding. I have to go, Tony."

Tony kissed the side of my head. "Do you want me to come as your date?" he asked.

       "Would you?" I asked.

"Yeah, of course," he said. "When does it start?"

"Two hours," I said. "So I better start getting ready now because knowing me, it will take probably half that time to get ready." I looked down at the invitation. "At least it's semi-formal because I have no formal dresses."

Tony turned me around so I was facing him. "Are you going to be okay?" he asked.

"Well, you'll be with me, so of course," I said with a smile before giving him a quick kiss. "Now let me get ready."

Tony moved his arms away from my waist and let me go to the bedroom. I went to the closet, trying to decide on what to wear. In the end, I decided on a burgundy dress with lace sleeves and overlay.

While I was putting my make up on, Tony walked into the bedroom and started getting changed as well

While I was putting my make up on, Tony walked into the bedroom and started getting changed as well. Tony sat down beside me on the floor, where I always did my make up. I'd rather sit on the bedroom floor than stand in front of the washroom mirror.

"How long are you going to take?" he asked.

"I'm almost done," I said. "Relax." I caught a glance at what he was wearing, then I smiled. "So you wanted to match?"

Tony looked down at the burgundy dress shirt he was wearing before smiling back at me. "Well, yeah," he said.

I kissed his cheek before going back to doing my make up, then I went onto my hair. All I did was put it into a high ponytail, leaving a few strands on either side of my face.

When I finished, Tony stood up and helped me stand up as well. We then left our apartment and went to his car. I was wondering if I should have gotten Lydia and Ian a present, but then I realize that me showing up was a present itself.

The ride to the venue was a bit....silent. I knew why, but I didn't know if I should say anything. I wasn't going to just my sister's wedding, but my ex-boyfriend's wedding too. And my current boyfriend was coming with me. It might turn really awkward.
