Chapter 19

Today was Thanksgiving and just like last year, I was going to spend it with Tony's family. However, this time was going to be a lot more special because Tony and I were actually dating.

I was also a sucker for babies and I haven't even seen Ryder yet.

Tony and I got ready before leaving the apartment, walking hand in hand. And when we were on the main floor, I saw someone I did not want to see at all.

       Lydia.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I live here now," she said. "Ian and I found an apartment here."

"You what?" I asked. "Did you only look into moving here because I told you I was living here?"

"Of course not," she said. "Not everything I do centers around you, Charlie. So, I'm guessing this is your so-called 'boyfriend'."

Tony furrowed his eyebrows. "Uh, I'm not her so-called 'boyfriend'. I am her boyfriend."

       "Why?" Lydia asked.

"You know, I'm just trying to move on with my life," I said. "To get away from my family. I don't do or say anything to you guys, and you still treat me like crap. So if you ever see me again, please do me the favor and ignore me."

I then pulled Tony out of the apartment and to his car. I got into the passenger seat with a huff and angrily slammed the door.

"I can't believe they're still treating you like that, " Tony said as he got into the driver's seat. "It happened over a year ago and you got over it."

"I know," I said. "I'm just trying to move on but they're not letting me. It's stupid."

"Yeah, I agree," Tony said, starting up the car before driving to his parents' house.

As soon as we got there, Tony's parents greeted him with a hug, then told us that we could wait in the living room. The two of us sat down on the couch and I immediately rested my head on his shoulder, so he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

It wasn't long before Poppy and Grayson showed up with Ryder. As soon as they walked into the living room, Tony said, "Ooh, let me see my nephew."

"No way," Poppy said as she sat down beside Grayson on the loveseat.

       "Please?" Tony asked.

Poppy sighed and got up to hand Ryder over to Tony before she sat back down. "Oh, he's so cute," I said. "This is actually my first time seeing him. How old is he?"

       "Six months," Poppy replied.

"Now I kind of want a baby," I said. Seeing how cute Ryder was while he babbled and blew raspberries was so adorable.

       "What?" Tony asked.

"Oh, relax, Tony," I said with an eye roll. "I'm not saying we're going to have a baby. Besides, you're still too immature to become a father."

"Immature?" Tony repeated. "I'm not immature."

I patted Tony's shoulder. "Keep telling yourself that," I said. He wasn't really too immature to be a father. In fact, I think he would be a great father, but I just liked teasing him.

It wasn't long before Ryder started crying, so Tony got up and handed Ryder over to Grayson, and he immediately stopped crying as he snuggled into Grayson. From what Tony has told me from his conversations with Poppy, Ryder was a major daddy's boy. He used to cry when Grayson went off to work and refused to stop until he saw he dad.

When dinner was ready, we all went to the dinning room. Grayson placed Ryder in the high chair that was set between two chairs.

While we ate, Grayson was feeding Ryder baby food and seeing it was making me smile on the inside. Tony told me a lot of things Grayson had to go through, so it was amazing to see him all happy with his son.

Izzy spoke up and suggested that, like last year, we go around the table saying something we were grateful for.

"I am thankful that both of my children has found someone special in their life," she said, which made me smile. "Poppy, your turn."

Poppy said she was most thankful for Grayson, which made him smile a whole lot. I really loved the two of them.

When Tony went, he decided to be all gushy and cheesy. "Well, I'm thankful that my beautiful girlfriend decided to give me a chance."

I, of course, had to smile at that. "And I'm thankful that I met Tony. Because nobody has ever made me feel special like he does."

"Aww," Poppy gushed. "Tarlie is so cute!"

Tony sighed again. "And I should have warned you that my sister ships people as well," he said.

"I only ship Tarlie," Poppy said. "And Rolia. And Ellin."

"Rolia? Ellin?" Grayson repeated with furrowed eyebrows.

"Roland and Thalia. Elliot and Laughlin." The two started talking about Grayson's cousin and how she was doing.

Sitting here on Thanksgiving was really making me happy that I found Tony. I loved this family so much, and I really loved Tony a lot more than I had ever loved anyone.

________________

Lol Poppy, you won't ship Rolia for long. cx Graelia for life.

This is be a short story and will probably end at chapter 30, if not before. There wasn't really much for Tony and Charlie's story anyway, besides how they got together.

I've been debating if I should do Dedrick's book next, or start Ryder's second one. What do you guys want? (do inline comments)

Dedrick.

Ryder.
