Chapter 18

Apparently, Tony's dad was a huge shipper. He always fangirled when his favorite ships, whether it be in real life or on TV, got together. Tony and I were one of these ships and right now, Tony was on the phone with Gene.

Tony didn't really tell his dad that we were dating, so I could tell by the conversation that Gene was a bit upset.

"Dad, calm down," Tony said into the phone. "I would have told you, but you go crazy when your ships get together. Remember how you acted when you found out Poppy got back together with Grayson?....Yes, I know that they're cute together but you didn't have to go crazy....No, Dad, don't you dare....Dad?" Tony sighed and hung up his phone. "Well, my dad is on hos way over for a visit."

       "He's quite interesting," I said.

Tony flopped down onto the couch beside me. "But he's very annoying at times. He's way too old to obsess over other people's relationship."

"I would rather have a dad like him then the parents I have," I said.

       Tony sighed. "I'm sorry, Charlie."

"It's fine," I said. "You find it annoying, I don't. People find different things annoying, Anthony."

Tony groaned. "Don't call me Anthony."

       "Anthony."

"Why did I think it would be a good idea to date you?" Tony asked.

       "Because you love me."

       "Unfortunately."

I just smiled at him before scooting closer to him on the couch and leaning my head on his shoulder. "I'm glad I have you, though," I said. "I may bug you a lot, but it's my way to show you that I love you."

"I love you too," Tony said. "I wish you wouldn't bug me as much, though...."

"Yeah, I'm probably never going to stop bugging you," I said. "So you better get used to it, Anthony."

"Stop calling me by my full name!" Tony said.

"No," I said. "If I can't, then who will? Think about these sort of things, Anthony."

       "I hate you," Tony said.

"Nah, you love me," I said. "And I'm hungry."

"Then get something to eat," Tony said.

I frowned. "But I can't make anything. Except mac and cheese. Or heating up soup. You actually know how to cook, so make dinner."

"It's two o'clock," Tony said. "I won't make dinner until later. And stop being so demanding."

"But it's fun," I said before getting up from the couch and walking to the kitchen. I pulled a bag of chips out of the cupboard and poured it into a bowl before going into the fridge and getting a can of soda.

Living with Tony was so much better than living for myself. While I was living by myself, I had to buy groceries as well as paying the bills and my student loans. Because of that, I was barely able to buy a variety of groceries.

Now that I was living with Tony, we both paid for the groceries and we were able to get a lot more than we used to.

I sat back down beside Tony and turned on the TV. He tried grabbing a chip from the bowl, but I slapped his hand away. "Get your own chips," I said.

"You're mean," Tony said. "We share those chips."

"Yes, but get your own," I said. "I'm not sharing these chips."

Tony sighed before getting off the couch and going to the kitchen to get his own bowl of chips. Right as he was about to sit back down on the couch, there was a knock at the door. "And that would be my parents," Tony said, putting his bowl of chips on the coffee table, then going to answer the door.

Tony let his parents in and they walked into the living room. "Hi, Charlie," Izzy said with a smile.

"Hi," I replied as Tony sat down beside me.

"So, Tony, how's work?" Izzy asked.

"It's good-ish," Tony said. "My students are a bit crazy, but at least it's easier than when I had Poppy and Grayson in my class. That was a nightmare."

"They're not so bad," Izzy said.

"Oh, Grayson wasn't the bad one," Tony said. "It was Poppy. She was always able to get out of doing homework."

"That's totally your fault," I said. "You should have put your foot down. You were her teacher."

"Whose side are you on?" Tony asked.

"The right side, Anthony," I said.

"Are you ever going to stop calling me that?" Tony asked.

       "Nope."

"Thanks a lot, Dad," Tony said.

"How is that my fault?" Gene asked.

"You couldn't have just named me Tony?" he asked. "It had to be Anthony? She won't stop calling me that now."

"Boo hoo, it's your name," I said. "Get over it."

"I'll get over it when you stop calling me that," Tony said.

"It's my nickname for you," I said.

       "Nicknames are stupid," Tony said.

"Nicknames are cute," Gene said. "Grayson calls Poppy Flower."

"Aww, he does?" I asked. That was really cute. I hadn't really been around the both of them long enough to actually hear him call her that, but it sounded really cute.

"Okay, that may be cute, but me being called Anthony isn't," Tony said. "So please, Charlie, stop."

"Fine, I'll stop," I said. For now. Not so much later on.
