Makenna's P.O.V.

"Mom?" Four year old me yells into the darkness. I walk to her office in my bunny slippers while holding on, as tightly as possible, to my tan stuffed bunny rabbit. Slowly, I open the door. The desk is overturned and the window is wide open. I see my mothers hand from behind the desk. "Dad?" I yell. I walk closer to the desk and look at my moms hand. I now see the dark crimson blood all over the floor around her. "Dad?" I hear footsteps and then my dad appears in his normal jeans and grey t-shirt. My dad quickly grabs a bag and shoves a bunch of papers in it. He gets in the closet and I can't help but wonder closer to my mother. "Mommy?' I say quietly. I reach my hand out to touch hers.
"No." My Dad says as he picks me up. "You can't do that. Honey, we're going to go on a little trip. We have to pack your stuff." He sits me on the ground in my small bedroom. There was going to be another baby soon. He would share my room with me until I was big enough to get my own. Dad grabs a bag out of the closet and places clothes in it. I try to help pack but, every time I put something in the bag, Dad just gets angrier. He zips up the bag and then grabs my coat from the wall. I put down my bunny long enough for him to put it on me, and then i grab my bunny again. Dad stands up and takes my hand.
"Daddy, isn't Mommy coming?" I ask. We get outside and he crouches down.
"No baby, Mommy can't come with us." I start to tear up," Now don't cry little one. Mommy loves you very much, but her and baby brother can't come with us." I nod and clutch my bunny even closer to my body. "You keep this bunny with you always. Okay, Macky? You never let it go. You keep it safe for mommy." I nod again as he opens the door to the car. I climb in and he buckles me in to my car seat. He closes the door and quickly slips something in my bag.

We drive for what seems like hours. And then we stop at a big brick building. My dad gets out and goes and knocks on the door. A woman comes out and looks at my Dad. They start to talk and then the lady looks at the car, and then nods. Dad comes and opens my door and grabs my bag. He unbuckles me and helps me out of the car. Then he unbuckles the car seat. He takes my hand in one hand and then in the other he the car seat, with my bag slung over his shoulder. We walk up the steps and Dad hands the lady the car seat and bag. Then he crouches down in front of me. I smile at him.
"Baby, I love you so much, you never forget that. But, I have to go on a trip for awhile." My smile drops. Daddy was leaving me too. "I don't know when I'll be back. In the mean time, this nice lady will take care of you." I look at the tall lady in the door. I turn back to my Dad and throw my arms around his neck. The lady behind us starts to pry them off.

"No, Daddy!" The lady picks me up and holds me firmly in her arms while my Dad walks away. "Daddy come back!" I start to scream. Tears are streaming down my face. If he would only turn around they would go away. "Daddy turn around!" I squirm in the ladies hands. The lady turns and starts to walk into the building. "No! No, Daddy! Please!" The door closes and my Dad is gone.

4 years later_____

I press record on the tape recorder and start to speak. "Hi Daddy. It's been 4 years since you left me at the orphanage. I am now eight years old. I didn't get rid of the bunny daddy. You told me not to. I got your letter too, daddy. The ones you and mommy wrote to me. I haven't read them yet, because it says not to until I turn 18. Daddy, I miss you. It has been so long. The other girls are mean here Daddy. And something weird happened to me. I thought I was dreaming one night. But then the next day the thing I dreamed came true. It was so weird. Daddy. when are you coming back? I miss you. I feel so alone here. I love you Daddy." I press stop and wipe away my tears.

4 years later_____

"Hi Dad. Umm. I don't have much to say. Four other girls got adopted today. They were only here a week. I have been here for eight years. Miss Abernathy keeps telling me to do these more often but I don't see the point. I know she isn't giving them to you. Dad, weird things keep happening to me. And I can't explain them. There was another girl like this. Two men came and took her. One had an eye patch. Dad, I still have the bunny and the letters. I miss you so much, Dad. Please come back soon. I need you so much right now. "

4 years later_________

"So. I'm sixteen. And you have been gone for 12 years now. I have given up hope of you ever coming back. I know what I am now. Someone is teaching me how to use my powers and how to protect myself. Dad, I never got to say goodbye to mom. Or my baby brother. That is so messed up. Why did you leave me here? I was only four years old. What could you have to do that was more important then your four year old daughter? I still have the stupid bunny . . . and the letter. But, it won't matter if you don't come home. Please come back Dad?"

Now two years later_ _ _

I look up at the screen that had my face on it. That was a good picture. I drink my coffee slowly.
"This girl is lethal and to be taken at high-" I tune out. Yeah yeah high risk, very lethal, call this number if you see her. I mean I knew I was popular but really was this necessary? I only kill people who deserve it. Next to me my friend shifts.
"Macky do you think they know that we are right under their noses?" She asks. I shrug.

"Doesn't matter, we have bigger fish to fry." I smile," Now I think this cute little joint could use a dash of drama don't you?" She smiles.
"Now your talking." I grab the gun out of my pocket and stand up shooting to bullets at the ceiling. Everyone starts to scream and duck under tables. Even my friend, who is playing an innocent bystander.
"Here's how this is gonna work." I say taking off my hood," You are gonna do what I say and no one will die."
