S.H.I.E.L.D Is The Enemy

24th of December

Makenna~
       This morning I woke up in my bed. After last nights events we wiped Parker's memory and I had to break up with him again. He took it just as hard as the first time. But him leaving was good because this morning when I woke up we finally got a hit on where Hydra's main base of operations is. And this ends tonight. 
       "Are you sure about this?" Clint asks, looking back at me. "Attacking Hydra at their base of operations? Isn't that a little reckless? Even for you?" I smirk.

        "They messed with my family . . . that was a big mistake. One that they will pay for," I take my necklace off and throw it on the floor of the plane. " in blood." 
         "We are making our final approach. Gear up." I grab my gun and utility belt and strap them to my waist. I look back at everyone gearing up. 

         "A guy named Roadblock once told me some quote and it was random but it's stuck with me all of this time. 'Whatever Deity may guide my life, dear lord don't let me die tonight. But if I shall before I wake, I'd accept my fate.' Listen guys," I say," I don't know what's going to happen today. I don't know if we will live or die. So, for whatever it's worth, I am grateful for the privilege I have of fighting along side you all. You have all become my family. I know we've all made mistakes, but today none of that matters. Today, we take Hydra down once and for all. This ends today." The bay door opens behind me." Let's give em hell." As soon as the bay door opens the fight begins. Steve takes out two of the guards with his shield, and then all hell breaks loose. I head straight for the door of the compound, taking out a few guys on the way. When I get to the door I freeze it and Steve throws me his shield to break it. I break the door and throw Steve back his shield as he is taking out four guys. I look around at the various fights going on around me. 

           "Go!" Steve yells," We've got this!" I nod and run into the compound. Within 5 feet I run into several soldiers. I freeze my whole body and attack them all, they fire their guns at me several times but I am bullet proof so it does nothing. Once I take them all out I continue to the lab. The one thing that is on my mind is how I wish I had more time. More time to apologize for the things I've done. More time to tell Steve how I feel. More time to get to know my father. More time for me and my brother to connect. More time to be free from this world. But, the life I chose doesn't go like that. The villain never wins. That is just the way it goes. 

         "Makenna." I turn.
         "Grant?" I ask. "I thought you were dead." He smiles a deathly smile. 

        "You know I could use a person of your magnitude on my team." 
         "You'd have to kill me first." Brian comes around the corner. 
         "That's what I thought. So I bought a friend." Brian runs towards me and tackles me into the wall. The wall gives way and we go through it. I stand up. 
          "I won't fight you Brian. You're my brother." He hits me again and I fly back into a panel. I get up. 
          "You're my mission." He punches me in the face and I fall to the ground.  I turn towards him. 
          "Brian." I say before coughing up blood." You have to remember. Please. I just got you back. I don't want to live in a world where I don't have a brother." 
        "You never had one." This struck a cord with me and I jumped up and I punched him. He flew back. It was time to fight . . . I said I would end this and one way or another, I meant it. He gets u[ and heads straight towards me. 

Third person~
         As Makenna and Brian fought, Makenna's brain wandered to her parents and her friends. She knew that she could not possibly win this fight. Because if faced with the choice of her brother living or her, she would pick him. For years she had thought of who he could have become. She imagined how he'd look. She imagined herself in situations where she was his best friend. But, now all she could seem to think is that she had ruined him. Since she thought he was dead she never tried to find him. She never tried to connect with him. She drove him to Hydra. And that was her fault. Or so she though. 
         Brian had forgiven her years ago, when he first learned of her existence. Whenever he was in a bad situation he would imagine himself with Makenna and think what would she tell me to do? He never thought he would one day be trying to kill her. But, now here he was doing the exact thing he promised never to do again. He was hurting his sister. 
         Makenna fought back with defensive moves trying to stop the fighting but in the end she had to do what was best for him. She could see that even if she tried to win, she wouldn't live. She had several broken ribs, a concussion, blood was pouring for her head, and her arm was broken. After she had landed on the ground from Brian's hit she scooched over to the panel and leaned against it. 

Makenna(Start song)~
       I turn and spit blood out of my mouth. He comes closer and picks up a sword from a table. He looks at me for a minute like he is trying to talk himself out of killing me. Everything seems to slow down as he picks me up by my shirt. Steve runs into the room with the rest of the Avengers but Brian doesn't turn, he doesn't even acknowledge that they are there. Then with one quick motion the sword he is holding is in my gut. Blood is spluttering out of my mouth as I try to grasp any breathe I can. Brian drops me and I hit the ground facing Steve. I look up at Brian. His face is in horror and recognition. So that was Hydra's play. The only way that Brian would be broken out of Hydra's brain washing was for him to kill me. 

       Brian kneels by me and Steve is there within an instant. Steve holds my hand and Brian says something that is inaudible to me. Brian takes the sword in his hand and yanks it out of me. I gasp but turn onto my back. Steve is still holding my hand as I look to the ceiling. It seems as if there is snow falling. Steve's hand is on my cheek and he is begging me not to go. How can he ask that. I just want to see my Moms. After everything I have been through don't I deserve that? I look at Steve but I can't speak. Everyone is gathered around me now. They are all saying some version of 'stay'. But, I can see them reaching out to me through the snow. They want me to go home. They are telling me that it's alright that I have done everything I need to do. They want me to go home. I reach out as the light starts to envelope my surroundings. 
        "Clear!"
